NESHAMINY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0
Evan Krippel was in midseason form in Friday’s opener, going the distance and allowing just three hits while fanning 13 and walking one.
Krippel got all the run support he would need in the bottom of the first. Anthony Trommer drew a leadoff walk and moved up to second on a
groundout. It looked as though he might be stranded there, but Stone Powell delivered a clutch two-out RBI double to right, and the Redskins led 1-0.
That score stood until the fourth inning when they plated an unearned run without the benefit of a hit. In the bottom of the fifth, Trommer, who was safe on an error, scored on Powell’s second double of the game – this one to left field.
Powell’s 2-for-3 day with two doubles and two RBIs led the Redskins, who managed just three hits off a pair of Tennent hurlers.
For the Panthers, Mike Woehr started and allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) in four innings. He walked one. Nate Scotese threw two innings in relief, allowing one hit and one run (unearned).
For the Redskins, Krippel retired eight in a row to close out the game.
Neshaminy (1-0) will travel to Abington for a non-league contest Thursday, and William Tennent (0-1) will host Conwell Egan in a non-league game Friday.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 8, CONWELL-EGAN 1
Trey Sajeski was brilliant in Friday’s season opener. He did not allow a hit in five perfect innings and recorded 13 of 15 outs on strikeouts. He struck out the first nine batters he faced and closed out his stint on the mound with three strikeouts in the fifth.
“It was a dominant performance,” Rock South coach Greg Paprocki said.
Sajeski, after striking out the side in the top of the first, helped his own cause in the bottom of the inning when he led off the frame with a single and then stole second. He scored on a one-out single to right by Chase Ennis.
The Golden Hawks took that 1-0 lead into the fourth when they erupted for seven runs. Highlights of the inning included RBI singles by Sam Serpiello, Johnny Mendola, Ennis and Billy O’Neill. The Hawks also benefitted from five walks.
Ennis threw two innings in relief, allowing one hit and one run while striking out two and walking three. He also had a huge day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Council Rock South (1-0) will travel to William Penn Charter for a non-league game Thursday at 4 pm.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 8, WINDERMERRE PREP 5
The Hatters didn’t get off to the best of starts in Friday’s opener in Vero Beach, Fla. After the Hatters took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Jaxson Bumpus, who singled, scored on an error, the Lakers – benefitting from four walks and a hit batter – plated five runs despite collecting just one hit in the bottom of the inning.
They took that 5-1 lead into the fourth inning. Jamie O’Neill lined a leadoff double to center and was replaced by courtesy runner Dominick Pedone, who scored on Brady Pagano’s groundout to pull the Hatters to within three.
The Hatters had a five-run inning of their own in the fifth to take a lead they would not lose.
Aidan Eckley opened the inning with a line single to center, and he scored when Trey Porter roped a double to left. Porter, who stole third, scored on Noah Schlosser’s line single to left. Bumpus drove in the tying run with a single to right, and with two outs, Pagano doubled to left to drive in a pair and put the Hatters on top 7-5. Porter’s sacrifice fly in the sixth accounted for the game’s final run.
Bumpus, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, had the lone multi-hit game of the day for the Hatters, who collected seven hits.
O’Neill notched the win on the mound, entering the game with one out in the first and throwing 6.2 shutout innings. He allowed just four hits while striking out four and walking none.
The Hatters (1-0) will be back in action Saturday.
