Hatboro-Horsham opened its 2019 season with a win in Disney’s High School Baseball Spring Training Friday.

The Hatters took advantage of the great weather and played error-free baseball to earn their first win of the year with a 5-2 win over Yough High School from outside Pittsburgh in Disney’s High School Baseball Spring Training. Junior captain and pitcher Benny Wilson led the way for the Hatters tossing a complete game with 13 K’s while allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks.
Josh Heebner led the offense going 1-2 with a two run triple to break the game open in a three-run sixth.
Junior catcher Anthony Bruno was 1-3 and threw a runner out.
Yough’s starting pitcher, Jarrett Bach, was solid in the start. The hard throwing lefty, who is committed to Pitt, struck out nine in his five innings.
The Hatters will be back in action on Saturday at 3:30 against Franklin Monroe (OH) and at 6:00 against West Geauga (OH) at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports. Juniors Eric Thron and Jackson Treski will get the starts on the mound for the Hatters.
