ABINGTON 6, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0
The Ghosts received stellar pitching performances from juniors Greg Troyer and Chris Clewell. The duo combined for the one-hit shutout with Troyer throwing five innings to earn the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out five. Clewell threw two scoreless innings in relief. He did not allow a hit and fanned three.
“The nice thing is – they both pitched quite a bit for me as sophomores, so they have game experience from last year,” coach Dave Torresani said. “I knew they were pretty good, but today was exceptional because they had not been on an outdoor mound yet as I’m sure most pitchers around here have not.
“Pitching on a portable mound in the gym is as far as we’ve gone.”
The Ghosts scored all the runs they would need in the third inning when they plated a pair of unearned runs. They manufactured a run in the fourth when Paul Poppert, who had doubled, scored on a squeeze bunt by Nick Torba.
For good measure, the Ghosts added three more runs in the seventh. Justin Yerkes delivered the big blow – a two-out, two-run single.
“I have to give Chris Manero and his PW staff a lot of credit because they got the field ready for us to play,” Torresani said. “I never expected to play today.”
Brett Highland accounted for PW’s only hit. The Ghosts collected six hits off of four PW pitchers, who combined for eight strikeouts and six walks. Ben Raeder absorbed the loss, although he did not allow a hit or earned run.

SOUDERTON 12, UPPER DUBLIN 2 (6 INNINGS)
The Indians received solid pitching performances from a trio of hurlers. Aaron Gulibon threw the first three innings, and he allowed three hits and two runs. He struck out seven and walked four.
Nate Luscombe threw two scoreless frames, allowing one hit while walking none and striking out four. Austin Eberhart tossed a scoreless sixth. He did not allow a hit and struck out two while walking a pair. All told, the trio fanned 13 batters and allowed just four hits.
The Indians scored all the runs they would need in the first two innings. They plated a pair of runs in the first and added three more in the second to go on top 5-1. It was a 6-2 game heading into the fourth inning when the Indians exploded for five runs to put the game out of reach.
Blake Gular had a pair of hits – including a double – and two RBIs. Brett Moyer also had two hits and two RBIs. Tyler Mathe had a double, two RBIs and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
