Continental Conference
Central Bucks South 3, Souderton 1
The Titans started the conference season with three straight tough losses, but Tuesday was a different story as they downed Souderton on the road to come away with their first league win of the season.
They led basically from the get go outside of when Souderton tied the game at one in the second, but the Titans were unfazed, scoring two in the fourth to come away with the win.
“We had given a couple away,” said Titans head coach Mike Schaefer. “We were finally put it all together. It’s a tough league and it feels good.”
The story of the game was senior pitcher Mike Kuypers who went the distance, allowing just six hits and one earned run while striking out 10 batters and not surrendering a walk.’
“He gave us everything we needed,” said Schaefer. “He was dominant, fantastic. He got a strikeout to end the game.”
The bats also came alive for South with Alex Happ getting the big hit of the day in the fourth – a two-run single that broke the 1-1 tie. Happ finished the game 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI.
“Top to bottom we had a good day,” Schaefer said.
Will Moller had three hits and a run scored and Kyle Rossi had two hits. Tommy Dugan was 1-for-4 with a double and Mike Goldsworthy scored one of the three runs.
For Souderton, Aaron Gulibon, Blake Gular, Nate Luscombe, Dylan Morrissette, Connor Lennon and David Straub (double) each had a hit.
Matt Reinert scored the lone Indians run in the second to knot the score 1-1.

North Penn 3, Pennridge 2
The two top teams in the Continental Conference battled it out on Tuesday, and the game had enough drama to last an entire season. The Rams scored single runs in the first and third and looked like they would leave the victors, but the never-say-die Knights scored three times in the top of the seventh to steal the win from the Rams.
“We didn’t play clean baseball,” said Knights head coach Kevin Manero. “We got guys on in every inning. We just stayed the course.”
Greg Kerr was the star of the game as he tied the game in the seventh with a two out, two strike single that he laced into right center, and then pinch hitter Ryan Bealer got a hit that the Rams misplayed for the winning run.
“Those two at-bats made the difference,” Manero said. “Baseball is simple. It is one pitch at a time.”
Alex Peterson had three hits on the day while Anthony Cameron was 2-for-3. Greg Kerr had a double and two RBIs. Pennridge was led by Dan Long who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Dave Tatoian (double) also had an RBI. Dan Shane added a double.
Paul Haynie picked up the win while Long suffered the loss.
The Knights (6-0, 4-0 SOL) can enjoy this win but must get right back at it. They face rival Souderton on Friday then play their next five straight on the road with games against Hatboro-Horsham, Central Bucks South, Council Rock North, Central Bucks East and Quakertown.
Everybody is playing a lot of games next week,” said Manero of the Knights three games next week. “Every conference game is important. It’s a good conference and there are no easy opponents. It was a good day for us.
“It’s OK to be excited for 24 hours. We deserve to have fun.”
