Pennsbury 4, Hopewell Valley (NJ) 1
The two teams entered the seventh inning deadlocked 1-1, and it was Dave Murphy’s two-run double that was the difference in the game.
The Falcons used six pitchers – Griffen Schlaepfer, Andrew Gilbert, Zach Conley, Zach Szumigala, DJ Endler and Logan Buell, and they combined to toss a four-hitter, fanning seven and allowing just one earned run.
Endler earned the win in relief while Buell picked up his second save of the year.
The Falcons upped their record to 10-2 overall (7-1 SOL).
Bensalem 12, Springfield (Delco) 11
Less than 24 hours after falling in a shutout to Council Rock North, the Owls exploded for 15 hits and 12 runs to win their second high-scoring contest of the week (they defeated Neshaminy 14-12 on Thursday).
Kenny O’Connell’s two-run double highlighted a four-run first for the Owls, who added three runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to go on top 12-5 before the visiting Cougars scored three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to make things real interesting.
Bensalem’s five-run fifth included a two-run double by Bill Kohler as well as RBI doubles by Trevor McGee and Nick Mulvey. Rick Massott added an RBI single.
Multiple hit performances were turned in by Massott, (2-for-4, 3 RBIs, run scored), Chris Reyes (2-for-4, RBI, 2 runs), O’Connel (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 SB, run), Kohler (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) and McGee (3-for-3, 2B, RBI, run). Brandon Wermuth (1-for-3) scored three runs out of the leadoff spot and also stole a pair of bases.
Mulvey earned the win on the mound, allowing eight hits and five runs (only one earned) in five innings. He walked three and struck out seven. Collin Taylor recorded the game’s final two outs to earn the save.
The Owls improved to 5-4 overall (4-4 SOL).

Palisades 11, Central Bucks 1
The Bucks (3-7, 1-4 SOL) managed just four hits in Saturday’s non-league loss to the Pirates. Greg Buono, who doubled, scored the Bucks only run in the second inning. Thomas Philips, Matt Peralta and Eddie Shields each added a single.
Freshman Michael Taylor absorbed the loss, allowing two hits and two runs (one earned) while walking three and striking out three in 3.2 innings on the mound.
