Austin Kreyenhagen turned in a complete game masterpiece, putting an exclamation point on the shutout win with his 10th strikeout on his final batter of the game. The senior hurler threw 102 pitches – 69 for strikes. He finished with 10 strikeouts, one walk and scattered five hits. Kreyenhagen threw three pitches or less to 14 of 26 batters he faced while notching his third win of the season.
“Austin was locked in on the mound today,” Souderton coach Mike Childs said. “He has been great in his last three starts. His poise, energy and confidence on the mound is great for our younger guys to see.”
The win gave the Indians – battling for a spot in the postseason – a pair of much-needed wins to close out the week.
“Today was a good ending to our week,” Childs said. “When you start (the season) the way we started record-wise, you have to focus and take it one game at a time. The last two games were big for us. It is good momentum going back into our league play again next week.”
The Indians had just three hits but managed to squeeze out a pair of runs. Their first came in the top of the third. Jeremy Fallon led off the inning with a line single to right field and moved up to second on Nick Trucillo’s sacrifice. With two outs, Fallon was still on second when Tyler Lutz delivered a clutch RBI single to center field.
In the top of the sixth, Kreyenhagen reached base on a two-out error and scored on the Golden Hawks’ second miscue of the inning for the 2-0 final.
For the Hawks, Wilkinson pitched well enough to win most days, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) in seven innings. He struck out three and walked three.
Drew Nemeth had two of the Golden Hawks’ five hits.
Souderton (5-8, 4-6 SOL) will host Central Bucks South on Tuesday, and Council Rock South (6-6, 5-5) will travel to Georgetown Prep for a non-league game Saturday.

The Trojans scored a run that turned out to be the game-winner in the top of the seventh when – with the bases loaded – Adam Hajdak was hit by a pitch. It was the second hit batter of an inning that also included two walks and no hits.
“This was another quintessential Wissahickon Trojans victory,” Wissahickon coach Andy Noga said. “Our bats weren’t on fire, but we found ways to scrape across runs with quality at-bats, aggressive base running, and unselfish play.
“We continue to get on base with hit by pitches, and even had Adam Hajdak drive in the game-winning run with a hit by pitch.”
The Trojans used a trio of pitchers. Ryan Kim started and threw three innings, allowing four hits and two runs (none earned) while striking out two and walking two. Jake Fuhrmeister followed with two shutout innings. He did not allow a hit, struck out one and walked two. Gavin Malloy earned the win with two shutout innings, allowing no hits and walking one.
“Our pitching remains stellar, as two familiar faces in Jake Fuhrmeister and Gavin Malloy combined on the back end to slam the door after a quality start from Ryan Kim.
“We pitch well, we play strong defense in big spots, we are unselfish at the dish, and run the bases better than anyone. Right now, that’s a recipe for success for us, and we look to build off of this as we come down the stretch.”
Early on, the Trojans took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Justin Miller, who singled, scored on a groundout. The Spartans capitalized on a pair of Trojan miscues to plate a pair of unearned runs in the second to go on top 2-1.
Wissahickon evened the score in the fourth. Jarret Federer drew a leadoff walk and moved up to second on a wild pitch. He scored the equalizer when Finn Olszewski grounded a single to right field.
Neither team scored again until the top of the seventh when the Trojans scored the game-winner.
The Spartans held a 4-3 advantage in hits, but the Trojans capitalized on six walks and three hit batters.
Wissahickon (9-4, 6-4 SOL) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday, and Springfield Twp (5-7, 5-6 SOL) will be on the road at William Tennent on Tuesday.

The Ghosts picked up their second win in as many days on Thursday, their third in a row after a 1-5 start. Once again, pitching was the story of the game. In their three wins, the Ghosts have allowed just one run.
Calvin Judge stole the spotlight, scattering six hits and allowing one run in a strong complete game outing. He struck out nine and walked two.
In the bottom of the first, Chase Solkoff and Mike Woehr opened the frame with back-to-back singles, and one out later, Sam Vernick grounded a double to left field that plated Woehr. That 1-0 lead stood until the top of the fourth.
The Ghosts knotted the score with an unearned run when Mason Kishpaugh, who reached base on an error, scored on a sacrifice fly by Mike Biddle.
A three-run fifth began with back-to-back-back singles by Mike Judge, Gavin Grasso and Chase Goodson (RBI). It looked like that’s where the rally might end, but with two outs, Brian Murtha singled to plate a pair, giving the Ghosts a 4-1 lead.
Abington added two more runs in the sixth. Joe Loughney drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a groundout, moved up to third on a passed ball and scored on a single by Goodson for a 6-1 Ghost lead.
Goodson finished the game 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Mike Judge was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
For the Panthers, Vernick was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.
Abington (4-5 SOL) will travel to Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday, and William Tennent (3-8, 2-7) will host Springfield Twp on Tuesday.
