Bensalem notched a shutout win in SOL baseball action Saturday.

BENSALEM 1, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
Trevor Morris and Jake Wagner combined for a five-hit shutout, winning a pitcher’s duel against a pair of Truman hurlers.
“It was a great pitcher’s duel today,” Bensalem coach Kurt Sowa said. “Trevor Morris pitched another tremendous game for us. He’s been very good lately, it was nice to finally get him a win, and most importantly a team win.”
Morris threw five-and-two-thirds shutout innings when he reached the allowed 100-pitch mark. He gave up four hits, struck out seven and walked three. Wagner threw the final inning-and-a-third, allowing one hit.
Runs certainly didn’t come easily in this one.
Truman’s Austin Allen struck out the side in the top of the first. In the bottom of the inning, Aqual Chapman led off the frame with a single, but Morris coaxed a ground ball out of the next batter he faced and then fanned the next two.
It was a pattern that continued through the next two innings. The Owls put a pair on board in the top of the second but came up empty, and Truman stranded two base runners in the bottom of the inning.
In the third inning, the Owls once again had a pair of runners on base – this time with one out – but again came up empty. In the bottom of the inning, Chapman led off the inning with a triple but was out at home on a bunt.
In the bottom of the fourth, Kaden Lavendar roped a double to center field to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a bunt single by Joe Dougherty. Lavendar scored on a fielder’s choice by Jim Ridge to put the Owls on top 1-0.
Both teams continued to put runners on board, but the pitchers for both sides battled, and that 1-0 score stood the rest of the way.
“Wins haven’t been easy to come by, but this team battles every game,” Sowa said. “They are a resilient group who stick together and compete as hard as they can each day. It’s a pleasure to coach them.”
For the Owls, Logan Savage was 2-for-4 while Chapman was 3-for-4 with a triple to lead the Tigers.
Allen was charged with the loss despite allowing just three hits and one run in five strong innings, striking out nine and walking one. Gavin Kenworthy allowed four hits in two shutout innings to close out the game, striking out two and walking one.
Bensalem (3-10, 1-8 SOL) will travel to Council Rock South on Tuesday, and Harry S Truman (2-9, 2-8) will host Council Rock North on Tuesday.

GEORGETOWN PREP (MD) 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2
The Golden Hawks made the trip to North Bethesda, Md., for a non-league game with Georgetown Prep. They took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth when Georgetown plated a run to knot the score and then won it with a run in the sixth.
The Hawks manufactured a run in the top of the first. Jake Maurer led off and was hit by a pitch. One out later, Chase Ennis drew a walk, and Maurer scored when Tyler Harper delivered a clutch two-out single.
Georgetown evened the score in the third, but the Hawks took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth. Drew Nemeth drew a leadoff walk, moved up to third on Sam Serpiello’s single and scored on a fielder’s choice.
Five pitchers saw action in the circle for Rock South, which managed just two hits off a trio of Georgetown pitchers.
Council Rock South (6-7, 5-5 SOL) will host Bensalem on Tuesday.
