NESHAMINY 9, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 6
The Redskins found themselves staring at the short end of a 6-3 score heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when they staged an impressive rally, plating six runs and holding on to earn the come-from-behind win.
“Today was a gritty, team effort type of win,” Neshaminy coach Dan Toner said. “I was extremely proud of the team today – they never gave up. Having a game like this is crucial to having a successful season. Now you play every game with the thought that a comeback is possible if you are down. It changes the entire mindset of the team.”
Leading the Redskins’ offense were Brandon Lall and Anthony Kurley with three hits each. Jake Plebani, Danny Nocito and Mike Sassano each had two hits.
Michael Chichilitti earned the win with 1/3 inning on the mound, and Chase Bonner was credited with the save.

D Marable singled, and Kurley followed with a single to drive in a run. (9-6)
Neshaminy coach Dan Toner on the game: “Today was a wild, rollercoaster of a game for us. We played okay in innings one through three, but we left a ton of runners on base. Luckily, we were still able to get three runs out of it. Then we got to the fourth inning and had a complete implosion. We made errors, had trouble throwing strikes and were just giving away runs.
“In our league, and especially against a team like CR North, it’s very hard to win when you are playing your best…let alone your worst. Once we got to the sixth inning, we cut down our swings and just tried to get runners on, with the thought process of moving base to base. We had some hard-hit balls, some infield hits and some swinging bunts. It was one of those innings where a lot was going our way.”
–Props: “We had five players with multiple hits today and seniors Anthony Kurley and Danny Nocito led by example, coming through when it mattered most.
“We had a good amount of pitchers step in and perform today, keeping us in the game. In crunch time, we brought in Chase Bonner to close the game out.”
Up next: Neshaminy (5-3, 5-1 SOL) and Council Rock North (2-4, 1-3) will meet again Tuesday at Council Rock North.
