SOL non-league crossover
NESHAMINY 59, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 50
The Redskins trailed by nine at halftime, 32-23, but then threw some serious defense at the Bucks, allowing just four points in the third quarter. They also capitalized on 20 trips to the foul line in the fourth quarter, burying 15 of those.
Dan Pellegrini had the hot hand for the Bucks in the first half, scoring 13 points.
For the game, the Redskins buried 21 of 27 foul shots, led by Logan Gale’s 9-for-11 effort.
Key players: Logan Gale led the Redskins with 22 points with 14 of those coming in the second half. Gale had six points in the fourth quarter and was 4-for-6 at the foul line. He also led the team with nine rebounds and six assists. Jason Leiva had 13 points and four rebounds. All of Leive’s points came in the second half – 10 in the fourth quarter when he buried a pair of 3s and was 4-for-4 from the foul line. Luke Amrhein and Eriq Gold had eight points each.
For West, Melo Ayhmer led the way with 18 points, which included four 3s. He had 11 points in the fourth quarter. Dan Pellegrini added 15 points, and John Vrettos had nine.
Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle:
–The game: “We didn’t play a great second quarter, and we were down nine at the half. We were kind of allowing CB West to just penetrate and get in the paint at will.
“At halftime, we harped on that and tried to keep them out of the paint, and we did a much better job of that defensively, and we were able to hold them to four points in the third quarter, and we tied the game at 36.
“In the fourth quarter, it was still a back-and-forth game. We were able to get up 4-6 points midway through the quarter. We were 15 of 20 in the fourth quarter from the free throw line, and that was the story.”
–Props: “It was a great team win especially after going down as a team and playing pretty ugly defense – we gave up 32 points in the first half, and that’s a lot, but then we gave up four in the third. It was definitely a team win. Overall, everyone contributed.”
Up next: Neshaminy will host Cheltenham in an SOL non-league crossover game Friday, and Central Bucks West will be on the road at Wissahickon for a crossover game Friday.

SPRINGFIELD TWP 55, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 53
Talk about dramatic endings – this was it.
With the final seconds ticking off the scoreboard clock, Chadrack Kiamba came up with a clutch steal that set up Will McLaughlin for a layup with five seconds remaining for the win.
This was a back-and-forth game from the outset.
The Spartans led 15-13 after one quarter, but the Indians rallied, outscoring their visitors 16-8 to go into halftime with a 29-23 lead. The Spartans erased that deficit with a 19-point third quarter that was highlighted by eight points from Cahlin Spearman.
The Spartans – behind six points from Danny Cuono – outscored the Indians 13-11 in the final quarter to eke out the win.
Key players: Cahlin Spearman (21 points, 4 rebounds), Ryan McGuickin (12 points, 4 assists), Chadrack Kiamba (6 points, 3 assists).
For the Indians, Aryan Prabhu (13 points), Owen Crowne (12 points) and Andrew French (10 points) all finished the game in double figures.
Springfield Twp coach Mike DeCandido:
–The game: “Tonight was a character defining win for us. I challenged our captains before the game and had them run the pregame meeting. We have great leadership, and I wanted to give them a chance to bring our team together. The team did a great job responding, and it helped us get off to a strong start.
“Council Rock North fought back, took the lead at halftime, and grew it to about eight in the third quarter. They played extremely hard on defense – diving for loose balls, taking charges, and it was tough to score against them.
“Instead of getting down on ourselves, we played even more unselfish basketball and found a way to fight back. We had the lead late, and Council Rock North made a few nice plays to tie the game up. They had the ball with five seconds left and our tallest player, Chadrack Kiamba, stole the ball at the top of the key. Then he immediately picked his head up to make a transition pass. It was a perfect moment watching our senior captain Will McLaughlin sprinting down the court full speed for an outlet, and Chadrack giving him the pass for a full court layup. It was topped off with Will tipping the inbounds pass to end the game.”
–Props: “Honestly, this really was a total team effort. Chadrack came up very clutch for us down the stretch with a few blocks, steals, and assists, but everyone contributed in their own ways. Our defense was relentless tonight, and they played together 1-5, whomever was in the game. We shared the ball very well and attacked the basket with confidence. Even our bench energy from the opening tip was outstanding. They were engaged and picked each other up when they needed to. I’m proud of the total team effort this game required.”
Up next: Springfield Twp will host New Hope-Solebury on Tuesday, and Council Rock North will host Radnor in a non-league game Saturday (3pm).

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 51, LOWER MORELAND 35
Lower Moreland gave the Golden Hawks all they could handle for one half. The Lions led 11-9 after one quarter, and the two teams were deadlocked at 20 at the half.
The Golden Hawks – sparked by the hot hand of Ryan Delp – outscored their visitors 17-11 in the third quarter and 31-15 in the second half. Delp was the catalyst, lighting up the net for 11 points in the third quarter and 21 in the second half.
Council Rock South coach James Cassidy:
–The game: “Lower Moreland has really been battling lately, and they jumped on us early. We spent the entire first half fighting to catch up and make the game essentially 0-0 to start the second half.”
–Delp delivers: “Ryan Delp was just awesome in the second half. He had all 21 of his points and more than two thirds of our total, after halftime. I’m really proud of him because they weren’t ‘pretty.’ He had to fight and claw to get looks and get to the line. It’s exactly what we needed from a senior captain, and he came through for us. “
–Props: “Ray Haglund kept us in the game in the first half with nine, and we got great minutes from sophomore Brian Bondiskey. Brian suffered a knee injury in our first game, and he just returned on Tuesday, so having him back and contributing is huge for us because he’s another ball handler that can also get a basket and make a play on defense.”
Up next: Council Rock South will travel to Neshaminy Tuesday, and Lower Moreland will host Cheltenham on Tuesday.

The Patriots came out firing on all cylinders in a 20-point first quarter. They led Lincoln leadership by four and then took a 32-25 lead into halftime. They outscored their visitors 29-19 in the second half to win going away.
Key players: Keegan Marascio (17 points) and Connor Mekanik(13) led the Patriots’ attack. Marascio also had a team-high seven rebounds to go along with three assists, and Mekanik had four rebounds. Henry Bartchuk handed out eight assists and also had six rebounds.
Central Bucks East coach Erik Henrysen:
“It was good to get back in the win column. We haven’t been at full strength for one reason or another and we needed a few guys to step up again. At this point in the season, every team seems to be dealing with some adversity. If you’re not, you are one of the lucky few.
“Lincoln Leadership has some height, interior strength and team speed. I thought we settled in and played with the composure and focus we needed in the third quarter. We were able to build a double figure lead and see out the win in the second half.”
–Props: “Jackson Lutz is a senior that has been an incredible teammate and is an example of how to approach each and every day. It was great to see him start and come through for us.”
–A challenge awaits: “We have a mountain to climb at PW on Friday. They are laying it on teams since the new year. I know the teams they played out in San Diego, and they are all very good. Now, they are beating District One playoff teams by a ton. Coatesville is a top team in all of Pennsylvania, and PW handled them by 15. Then, you see them beat Neshaminy by 48, Upper Dublin by 42, Cheltenham by 26, and Abington by 25. It’s been an impressive run, and it will be an awesome opportunity for our guys.”
