NORTH PENN 50, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 43
The Knights – who took a 23-15 lead into halftime – appeared to be in complete command when they opened up a 13-point lead in the second half of Wednesday’s contest.
But just as quickly as they took that lead, it disappeared and they found themselves down two points.
Down but not out, the Knights finished strong to earn the win.
“We had a long stretch of mental lapses,” NP coach John Conrad said. “But give our kids credit – we were down two with about two-and-a-half minutes to go, and we were able to come back and pull it out.”
The Knights came back to take a four-point lead, and Norman Gee helped seal the visiting Indians’ fate, burying 5-of-6 at the line in the fourth quarter.
Gee wasn’t the only Knight to come up big in the fourth quarter. Ahmaar Godhania had six points in the frame.
“Give (Rock North) credit – they kept coming back,” Conrad said. “Their kid (Oliver) Schaefer had a phenomenal second half.
“He had two points at halftime, and he ended with 16. He really got hot. Give him credit.”
Godhania had 12 of his points in the second half. Tre Simpson added 12 points – six in the third quarter and eight in the second half.
“I thought Tre Simpson did a good job on the glass,” Conrad said. “He ended up with 12 points, but he really rebounded well. He was impressive on the glass.”
Also for the Knights, Gee finished with eight points.
Grady Burt – on the heels of a 19-point effort in Tuesday’s win over Truman – led all scorers with 21 points. His nine first-half points kept the Indians in the game. He added 12 more in the second half and finished the night with four 3-pointers. Included in Schaefer’s 14-point effort in the second half was a 4-for-6 effort at the foul line and a pair of 3s.
The win was the fourth in five games for the Knights in January.
North Penn (8-8, 7-4 SOL) will be on the road at Central Bucks West Friday, and Council Rock North (6-10, 4-7) will travel to Bensalem Friday.

CHELTENHAM 53, QUAKERTOWN 48
Cheltenham played its third game in three days and won for the third time in as many games, rallying from down one at halftime to outscoring their visitors 35-29 in the second half.
“We were flat, and Quakertown is a good team,” Fleury said. “They’ve got size, they have skilled players. Number 4 (Miles Longacre) is a good player.
“We played three straight days, and I think the third game was tough. We finally get to practice. We haven’t practiced with the weather and games – we’ve probably practiced once, maybe twice in the last week-and-a-half, so that was tough. Those are things we can’t control. We have to make sure we keep the main thing the main thing and control what we can overall.”
Longacre’s eight first-quarter points led the visiting Panthers, who led 8-5 after one quarter and took a 19-18 lead into halftime.
Cheltenham’s offense came to life in the second half. Behind seven points from Tinsley, the host Panthers outscored their visitors 15-12 in the third quarter. They took a 33-31 lead into the final quarter when Josiah Hutson scored 11 points in a 20-point quarter for Cheltenham.
Tinsley led Cheltenham with 16 points – 14 in the second half. Hutson added 13, Osei Johnson had 10 points, and Kevin Addison Anderson had nine.
“In the second half, Nile (Tinsley) started to control the paint,” Fleury said. “Kamal Mason did a great job facilitating. Jo (Hutson) had 13 points, Osei had 10, and Kevin had nine, but it was more the little things. If you get stops, you can score. It’s not rocket science. We just have to zone in on that. Points are nice, but that isn’t the reason you win games.
“Defensively, we’ve got to get better, but we have the pieces to do it. To play three games in three days and to right the ship a little bit with three wins is encouraging. All the little things just have to fall into place for the kids to see and feel the success they’re working towards. Sometimes we just have to slow down and remember the overall goal is the ultimate prize. That’s winning the right way and everyone – whatever role they play – finding value in that.”
Longacre led all scorers with 22 points – 14 in the second half. Ethan Tomlinson added 11 while Sam Wilkin and Kyle Rosenberger both had seven.
Cheltenham (12-4, 9-2 SOL) will travel to Lower Moreland on Friday, and Quakertown (7-10, 3-8) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh Friday.
