SOL Patriot Division
NESHAMINY 44, PENNSBURY 40
The Redskins needed a bounce-back win, and they got just that against their rivals on the road, but it took a comeback to pull it off.
The Redskins trailed 24-18 at halftime but rallied – behind the hot hand of Logan Gale – to outscore their hosts 18-10 in the third quarter and took a 36-34 lead into the final quarter when they held an 8-6 edge.
Gale scored 14 of his game-high 16 points in the second half.
“This was much-needed after we lost three straight games going into tonight,” Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle said. “It was just nice to get one on the road at Pennsbury against our rivals.
“We haven’t beaten them in the last – I want to say three years. We told them, ‘None of you guys ever beat Pennsbury in your careers,’ so it was nice to get a win tonight for the team.”
Key players: Logan Gale led the Redskins with 16 points and nine rebounds while Marlon Yon had nine points and 10 rebounds. Eriq Gold had eight points.
For the Falcons, three players finished in double figures – Brayden Clark (13 points, Patrick Jajua (11 points) and Sean Breslin (10 points).
Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle:
–The game: “It was a close game the whole game. We were down one after the first quarter, down six after the half. Then we were up two after the third. We had a big third quarter, which helped us. We won the third quarter by eight. It was just a crazy game – really a backyard battle, sold-out crowd, that kind of thing.”
”We played great team basketball tonight in comparison to our last couple of games, so for me, it was great to see that.”
–Dominating the boards: “We rebounded the ball incredibly well. I think we had 17 offensive rebounds, which was huge for us. We were able to get them in foul trouble, and in the second half, we had them go at our pace. The first half – they had the edge there.
“Logan Gale had 16 points and nine rebounds. Marlon Yon had nine points but 10 rebounds and nine of them were offensive, so it was a great team win. Everyone did their job, and it was great to get a road victory, especially with only a couple of games left before playoffs.”
Pennsbury coach Wes Emme:
“Just wanted to congratulate Neshaminy on a well-played game. They came out with a lot of fight and really dominated the backboard. Particularly, Marlon Yon.
“We cost ourselves a lot of opportunities with some easy shots that we would hope would go in nine out of 10 times. Credit to Neshaminy for making everything difficult on us the entire night. We need to respond and come out better on Friday.”
Up next: Neshaminy will host Harry S Truman Friday, and Pennsbury will host Council Rock North Friday.

BENSALEM 56, HARRY S TRUMAN 51
Just over a month ago, Bensalem lost to Truman by 15 points.
On Tuesday night, the Owls exacted a degree of revenge, defeating the visiting Tigers in a tightly-contested
rivalry game.
The Owls – behind seven points from Jacob Eberhardt – led13-6 after one quarter and took a 24-19 advantage into halftime. Truman came out of halftime and outscored the Owls 16-10 and took a 35-34 advantage into the final frame.
The Owls erupted for 22 points in the fourth quarter, capitalizing on 20 trips to the foul line, connecting on 14. Alex Per buried a pair of 3s in the quarter.
Key players: Mike Ellzy’s 15 points led the Owls and included an 11-for-14 effort at the foul line. He was a catalyst in a 22-point fourth quarter, burying 8 of 10 at the charity stripe. Naman Parmar added 13, which included a 3-for-4 effort at the foul line.
For the Tigers, Davae Vaughn led the way with 16 points – 12 in the second half. Adul Diallo added 15 – 10 in the second half. Jacob Eberhardt added 11 points – nine in the first half.
Bensalem coach Jerry Devine:
–The game: “We jumped out to a strong start, leading 13-6 after the first quarter and extending our lead to 11 points the first few minutes of the third.
“Truman is relentless, powered by aggressive guards Adul Diallo, Davae Vaughn, and Jaden Luchansky, who attacked the basket and put pressure on our defense, and they hurt us on the offensive glass. Our defense held tight in the clutch.”
–Props: “Jacob Eberhardt had an outstanding defensive performance, limiting Truman’s sharp-shooter Jaden Luchansky to just five points, all coming in the third quarter.
“Mike Ellzy controlled the tempo effectively, using his physicality to draw fouls and finish with 15 points (11 from the free-throw line). Naman Parmar excelled on the boards (9 rebounds) and in scoring, contributing 13 points. Freshman Alex Per struggled in the first half but delivered when it mattered most, knocking down two crucial three-pointers in the fourth quarter to keep Truman at bay. JJ Bourelly played well, adding eight points, and Jacob Eberhardt, along with his defensive gem, added 11 points. It was a true team effort, I’m proud of the group’s resilience to pull out the win.”
Up next: Bensalem will be on the road at Council Rock South in a non-league game Friday, and Harry S Truman will travel to Neshaminy on Friday.
