ABINGTON 82, NESHAMINY 60
The Ghosts led by just four at the end of one quarter but began to put some distance between themselves and the Redskins with a 25-point second quarter to go into halftime with a 45-30 lead. The Ghosts outscored the ‘Skins 37-30 in the second half.
Robbie Heath, who is averaging 18.2 points a game, led all scorers with 28 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Eric Dixon collected his 11th double-double in 20 games, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Lucas Monroe added 13 points and four assists. The Abington junior, who connected on 5-of-9 shots, entered the game shooting 52.8 percent from the field. J.P. Nolan had six points on a pair of threes and also pulled down four rebounds. The Ghost senior is now 8-for-13 from beyond the arc in the last three games.
The Redskins put on an impressive display of long-range shooting, connecting on 12 threes. Chris Arcidiacono, who had five 3-pointers, led the Redskins with 25 points. He completed a double-double with 11 rebounds and also had four assists. Anthony Papeo buried six threes for 18 points. He had a team-high six assists.
Abington (16-4, 11-0 SOL) will be on the road at Central Bucks East for a non-league game on Tuesday, and Neshaminy (11-8, 5-5) will host Harry S Truman on Tuesday.

Senior Amir Lewis led a trio of Cheltenham players in double figures with 20 points. Zahree Harrison added 12 points and Tim Myarick had 10 as the visitors rolled to the convincing win. Ahmad Bickley added eight points and 11 assists while Harrison had eight assists. Kyin Healey also had eight points, and David Polk had seven.
Cheltenham opened up an 18-9 lead after one quarter and extended that to 36-21 by halftime. They outscored Quakertown in all four quarters.
“It was a good bounce-back win after Wissahickon,” coach John Timms said of Friday’s 73-66 loss to the Trojans. “I think the guys bounced back and responded real well, which made me feel comfortable about the Wissahickon game.
“It’s one of those games where someone is going to have to lose. The better team won that night. We didn’t dwell on that loss because we don’t have time to. We have PW tomorrow.”
For Quakertown, Eli Ortiz led the way with 16 points, and Matt Lucas had 15 points on five 3-pointers. Matt Catalano had six points.
Cheltenham (14-6, 10-2 SOL) will be on the road at Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday, and Quakertown (6-14, 4-8) will travel to Springfield Township.
