The Golden Bears were in command from start to finish in this one, taking a shutout into the fourth quarter when the Phantoms scored their only goal of the game.

By the Numbers: Upper Moreland: Jake Drinkwater (5G), David Adamski (3G, 1 A), Travis Quirk (3G), Sean Durso (1G), Kevin Smith (1A), Lukas Rhode (1A)
Upper Moreland coach Matt Beck:
–The game: “We did a better job today coming out focused. We got our first game nerves out of the way yesterday and executed the game plan very well today.
“Jake Drinkwater added another five goals today. Travis Quirk’s shot was as accurate as I’ve ever seen it and he scored a hat trick for us. David Adamski found the back of the net three times and added one assist. Freshman Sean Durso scored his first goal today on a nice outside shot.
–Props: “Defensively we played very sound. Davidson was strong in net and the defensive unit worked together very well. Pat Collins played fantastic defense, and Noah Fuchs and Thomas Rose did their jobs well.
“Lukas Rhode picked off a pass while we were man down. He had a straight line to the goal. Rather than take what would have been a good shot, he moved it to Adamski for an easy finish. That unselfish play is exactly what we are looking for.
“Lastly, freshman Jack Sorrentino won 10 faceoffs today. He helped us control the game.”
Up next: Upper Moreland will travel to Pottsgrove for a non-league game Thursday.
