Sparked by the four-goal effort of Ian McPhillips, the Panthers earned a non-league win over The George School. The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie after one quarter, and the Panthers held a one-goal advantage at halftime (4-3).

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 7, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 4
The Indians opened up a 3-0 lead and led 5-3 at halftime. Rock North’s defense stole the spotlight in the second half, allowing just one goal.
Trey Minfer’s four-point game led the Indians.

“LC is a very good defensive team with some really good goalie play. LC has a really good defensive legend on that side in coach (Paul) McGovern.
“It was not our best game, but it was a gritty win.”

UPPER MORELAND 6, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 3
The Golden Bears trailed 3-1 heading into the fourth quarter when they erupted for five goals to earn the dramatic come-from-behind win.
By the numbers: Upper Moreland: Travis Quirk (2G), Jake Drinkwater (2G), Sean Durso (2G).
Upper Moreland coach Matt Beck:
“We battled a tough Ryan squad in a defensive struggle. Both defenses were outstanding, but luckily for us we were able to come alive in the fourth quarter and get the win.
“We had a balanced attack today. Three different players scored two goals apiece. The rest of the offense kept the ball moving and battled to maintain possession in the defensive struggle.
“I am proud of the effort and grit we showed today, and I am looking forward to seeing us continue to improve.”
–Getting defensive: “Defensively we were led by Lukas Rhode, Colin Davidson, Ethan Starr and Alex Rettew.
“SSDM Pat Collins and Liam Teefy helped us clear the ball and keep the score low until our offense got clicking late.”

The Flying Cardinals came up short in their non-league game against Penn Charter.

The Ghosts took a 7-5 lead into the fourth quarter when the visiting Colonials erupted for five unanswered goals to earn the win.
Jack Cooper’s hat trick led the Colonials, who also received three-point games from Dylan Ippolito, Owen Cababe, Drew Strohl and Sean Herron.
Kai Silverman had a big game at the face-off X, winning eight off 11 faceoffs. Mason Best recorded eight saves in goal while Zach Strohl (6 ground balls, 5 caused turnovers) and Luke Smith (5 ground balls, 5 caused turnovers) led PW’s defensive effort.
