RADNOR 11, UPPER DUBLIN 5
The Cardinals took on one of the district’s elite teams when they travelled to Radnor on Saturday, and for three quarters, they hung with the Raptors, trailing by just two before the Raptors erupted for six goals in the fourth quarter.
“Radnor is good and VERY seasoned,” UD coach Pat Lacon said. “That’s why we need to pump our non-league schedule with teams that are that level. Both Marple-Newtown and Radnor – when you struggle in an area, they capitalize and make you pay.
“It was 5-3 going into the fourth quarter. They made us speed up and hurry in our clears, and giving them multiple extra possessions, they are going to find the net. We have a three-week stretch of practice and SOL games, and we’re going to ratchet it back up and will be ready Downingtown East on April 30 and Manheim on the May 4.”
For UD, Cameron Osborne had a pair of goals while Nate Brown, Kyle Spirt and Reilly McLaughlin each had one goal. Al Eby added an assist.
Will Hofmann won 6 of 14 faceoffs, and Parish Albright recorded 16 saves in goal for the Cardinals.
