COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 11, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 10
The Titans opened up an early 4-1 lead and still led by two at halftime.
“They were leading the whole game,” Rock North coach John Fitzpatrick said. “We tied it late in the fourth and took the lead with two-and-a-half minutes left.”
It was Peter Lehman finding Luke Waldstrum for the game-winner.
“We got the ball and went into a stall for the last two-and-a-half minutes,” Fitzpatrick said. “We pretty much held onto the ball the entire time. It was pretty awesome.
“By winning this, it secured us in the (district) playoffs and could possibly have a home field, but that will all play itself out.”
Lehman led the Indians with five goals and two assists, and Walstrum had two goals and seven assists. He also handled the face-offs.
“Peter and Luke are two special players right now,” Fitzpatrick said. “(South’s) face-off kid is really, really good, but we wore him down. I think the face-offs were almost even by the end of the game. Luke kind of took over in the fourth quarter, and that really helped us.
“Peter runs our offense. He was really awesome today too. Beckett Thompson really helps us up top. It was really a game of face-offs. We were losing the face-offs at the beginning of the game, and it allowed South to put some scores in. At the end of the game, we wore them down.”
