How they got here: The Trojans won in sudden death penalty kicks when Devin Memis connected, propelling the Trojans to a 3-2 win in PK’s over sixth-seeded West Chester Henderson. The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie after regulation and two overtimes. Tom McHale and Cole Kropnick accounted for the Trojans’ goals, both with assists from Ryan Becker. After a first round bye, the Trojans crushed Springfield (Delco) 6-1 in Saturday’s second round game. Cole Kropnick set the tone with two early goals, and when he was leveled by the Cougars’ goalie on a breakaway, the Trojans were awarded a penalty stroke that Devon Memis converted. The Trojans also received single goals from Sam Hunt, Alex Tappen and Alex Chiodo-Ortiz. Memis, Hunt, Shane Fallen and Henry Zhong each contributed an assist.

Rustin keeper Liam Grady was credited with 18 saves in the loss. In Great Valley’s 3-2 overtime win over #2 Neshaminy, Kyle Hoops (Nate Shackleton assist) scored the game winner with 1:11 remaining in overtime. Earlier, the Patriots received goals from Colin Peitch and Mike Carrigan (Shackleton assist).

How they got here: The Patriots rallied from a 1-0 deficit in Tuesday’s quarterfinal game against fifth-seeded Plymouth Whitemarsh to knot the score on a goal by Evan Vare (Brian Gilligan assist). Vare notched the game winner in OT for the second time in as many games, propelling East to the 2-1 win. After a first round bye, the Patriots earned a 1-0 overtime win over 20th-seeded Methacton, thanks to a goal by junior Evan Vare with 3:42 remaining in the first OT. J.R. Eisold had the assist after a Booker Farrior throw-in.

How they got here: A goal by junior midfielder Peter Ferraro sent the Pioneers into halftime of Tuesday’s quarterfinal game against #9 Conestoga. Jeff Stautberg and Sam Alfonsi added second half goals for the 3-0 final. In a second round game, #17 Pennsbury battled the Indians to a 2-2 tie after two overtime periods. The Indians eked out a 6-5 win over the Falcons.
