SOL Patriot Division
Neshaminy 2, Pennsbury 0
Rezi Tebidze scored two first-half goals seven minutes apart, and that was plenty as Neshaminy inched closer to at least a share of the National Conference title with the 2-0 win over its archrival Pennsbury.
Neshaminy entered the game in a tie with CR North atop the conference standings and can clinch no worse than a title for the division title with a win Wednesday against Truman.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Rezi Tebidze (N) from Brody Collins 15th minute
Rezi Tebidze (N) from Martin Padilla 22nd minute
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley on the win:
“Overall, in the first half, we were going into the wind. I thought we moved the ball really effectively. We created a lot of chances, worked it from one side to the other, got the ball wide and got some good crosses, which nobody could get on the end of, but we definitely were dangerous. Pennsbury didn’t get any good looks at our goal in the first half, so it was nice to be up 2-0.
“In the second half, it was more of the same. The wind was a factor for us. It was blowing diagonally across the field, and we had the wind. A lot of balls just kind of sailed out of touch. We still moved the ball well most of the game. Pennsbury had one shot, and the wind slowed it down and made an easy save for our goalkeeper, Dan Raivitch. All in all, it was a really good win for our guys.”
—The goals: “The first goal was a real nice buildup. It started on the right side, a nice little combination, and it went to the central midfielder, who then passed it off to Brody (Collins) who was standing in the middle of the field. Brody is just such a good passer. He threaded the ball behind the defense to Rezi. Rezi collected in and went in on the goalie. When he shot it, it megged the goalkeeper for a goal, so it was a real class play all the way around. The boys did a really nice job with that one.
“Rezi’s second goal came from the right side. The midfielder targeted Martin (Padilla) who was playing forward at the time. He slipped it to Rezi, and Rezi was at the top of the 18, and he ripped a shot that deflected off a Pennsbury kid, blooped up in the air, and with the help of the wind, blew it
down and over the goalkeeper’s arms. It was one of those ‘oh no’ for the goalkeeper. It was a real nice goal.”
—Props: “Our central midfield, Damien Castro, is more of a defensive-minded kid, but he wins a lot of balls. He’s a real tough tackler. He did a great job today, and Brody Collins is just an attack-minded midfielder who sees the field really well. He’s probably the best passer on the team. He just sees passes that a lot of other kids don’t, and it was certainly evident in the one assist he had today. He did a really nice job.
“All in all, the defense has just been stellar. We have seven shutouts in our last nine games, so they’re having a good go of it. They’ve been locking down a lot of people. Pennsbury maybe had one good shot at goal today, and that was it. Overall, I’m very pleased with the game, and hopefully, we get the result Wednesday and go from there.”
—One more win: “If they win against Truman Wednesday, they’re co-champs with Council Rock North. It’s a nice win for the guys, showing where they came from last year to this year. It’s really a remarkable achievement for the kids. They did a really nice job. They certainly took their lumps last year, but the experience paid off for them, and they have a real good chance of being co-league champs this year, so that’s good news for them. We’ll see what happens on Wednesday.”
Next up: Neshaminy (12-2-3, 7-1-1 SOL), ninth to start the day in the District One power rankings, finishes the regular season at Truman Wednesday. Pennsbury (6-10-1, 4-5 SOL) finishes its season by host CR North on Wednesday.
Neshaminy 2 0 – 2
Pennsbury 0 0 – 0
Council Rock North 2, Council Rock South 1 (2 OT)
CR North battled back from an early deficit and went on to win it in the second overtime, as Zayd Najimi scored on a penalty kick in the 92nd minute to keep the Indians in a first-place tie atop the division standings with Neshaminy.
All three goals came via PKs, including CR South’s Ronan Harding in the 15th minute.
Logan Adams tied it for CR North with a PK in the 47th minute.
Scoring Summary
First half –
Ronan Harding (CRS) Penalty kick 15th minute
Second half –
Logan Adams (CRN) Penalty kick 47th minute
Second Overtime –
Zayd Najimi (CRN) Penalty kick 92nd minute
Council Rock North assistant coach Brian Hoffman on the game:
“It was ridiculously windy in our stadium tonight, and a ball was bouncing back. Darek Miller, as the center back, thought he could head it back to our goaltender, Calvin Hopkins. It just didn’t have enough pace on it, so their best player, Ronan Harding, basically stepped in between and he pushed the ball into space, and he was pulled down, and they called a penalty kick.
“Basically, from that point on, I would say play was controlled by us 95 percent of the time. South had some restarts that were dangerous, but during the normal flow of play, they really were. not much of a threat.
“Our defense played like young men possessed this evening, just absolutely working their butts off for the ball in every situation. Offensively, you could put a goal that was only about 2 feet wide next to the nets, and we would have scored in that a whole slew of times – we were very skilled at just missing the goal.
“Finally, about seven minutes into the second half, Logan Adams got in the box, and a kid chopped him across the ankles, and a penalty kick was called. He stepped up, and he scored the penalty kick. We go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and the game ends and we go into overtime.”
–Overtime: “After the first overtime, nobody had scored. Again, a number of opportunities. We also lost our starting goaltender when he re-injured his shoulder. Our backup – Elia Berman – came in and played fantastically. He’s played for us the last four or five games since Cal injured his shoulder the first time.
“In the 94th minute, a ball was played across the middle. Will Kamp was pulled down before the ball even got there, a penalty kick was called, and Zayd Najimi came up and buried it.”
–Props: “Chris Pinho was playing in place of Jasper Ring because Jasper got a red card last game, and Chris played a flawless game, played out of his mind.
“Isaac Morais basically nullified their best player. We had him man-mark Ronan Harding, and he did an outstanding job.
“Corey Brennan just covered the midfield. Especially with Isaac covering Ronan, Corey really covered the midfield excellently.”
Next up: CR North (13-3-1, 7-1-1 SOL), No. 11 in District One going into the night, can clinch at worst a share of the division title Wednesday night at Pennsbury. CR South (8-6-3, 4-3-2 SOL), No. 21 in the power rankings, plays at Bensalem Wednesday.
CR South 1 0 0 0 – 1
CR North 0 1 0 1 – 2
Bensalem 3, Harry S. Truman 2 (OT)
Bensalem’s Tommy Hurst scored with four seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game and then the Owls won it overtime on Tejas Sasan’s second goal for the 3-2 win over Truman on Monday afternoon.
Sasan also scored in the first half, and he assisted on Hurst’s tying goal.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Truman goal
Tejas Sasan (B)
Second Half –
Truman goal
Tommy Hurst (B) from Tejas Sasan
Overtime –
Tejas Sasan (B)
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock on the win:
“We came out flat and Truman came out playing well. They eventually took advantage and scored to go up 1-0. We were able to get the goal back with about 3 minutes left in the half when Ben Reinert played a ball up the wing to Tejas Sasan who was able to dribble across and score.
“We came out playing a bit better in the second half but still struggled to truly settle it. We had a mistake in the back lead to a breakaway for Truman which they scored to go up 2-1. We pushed numbers up and were able to tie the game with four seconds left when Tejas served a ball into the box and Tommy Hurst was able to get a nice volley over the oncoming keeper.
“Felt like we finally started to settle in during overtime; however, Truman popped out on another breakaway. Ben Reinert, playing in his first varsity game, made a great play coming from all the way across the far side of the field to slide tackle away the opportunity.
“The final goal came on a corner kick where the ball bounced around a bit, and Tejas Sasan was able to head the ball home for the game winner.
“Proud of our boys for not giving up and eventually getting a win where we didn’t necessarily play our best. Thought Truman played very well.”
Next up: Bensalem (6-9-2, 3-6 SOL) hosts Council Rock South in the division finale on Wednesday. Truman (1-14, 0-9 SOL) hosts Neshaminy Wednesday.
Truman 1 1 0 -2

SOL Colonial Division
Central Bucks East 2, Central Bucks West 0
Dan Frye scored twice in the second half to help CB East to the shutout win over its CB West on what was a special night for the two archrival programs.
“It was a very special night,” said Patriots coach Josh Isaacsohn. “We had the Kick ALS event for a former soccer coach and counselor of a lot of the kids from East and West, Bryan Rosica, who is battling the disease. We had a huge fundraiser for him where we sold shirts and did all kinds of stuff.
“There were hundreds of people in attendance. (CB West coach) John Adair is the Buckingham United technical director, and we had a lot of little kids out. We had kids playing at halftime, kids walking us onto the field.
“Just overall massive thanks and respect to John for helping set up what was a really special night that hopefully raised a lot of money for Bryan Rosica, who is really battling a tough thing. It was really, really a special night with a lot of community members and old friends coming together, and the East/West rivalry made it an extra special night.”
Scoring Summary
Second half –
Dan Frye (CBE), 42nd minute
Dan Frye (CBE) from Chris Gulbish, 72nd minute
CB East coach Josh Isaacsohn on the win:
“After a basically even first half – I think we had a few better chances than they did but couldn’t find net. We had some balls launched in the box that they did well with. We knew they were going to come out ready to go because they’re really fighting for playoffs. They’ve been so close all year long, and John (Adair) is such a good coach. We knew they’d be ready to go. They held us at bay.
“We actually felt okay about that because they had the wind at their back, and it was a very, very windy night. We held them off, and in the second half, after a couple adjustments at halftime, basically, we just said to the boys, ‘It’s East/West. You don’t need much giddy-up besides that.’
–The second half: “We started off pressing them really high. Two minutes into the half, Dan Frye jumped a weakly weighted pass that went from the defender back to the keeper. He snagged it and went in unassisted and scored.
“We had a bunch of chances and really should have put one in. We kind of held them at bay. They had a few – I think we had a few more, and then our defender, Chris Gulbish, hit a right-footed inswinger ball from the right fullback position, and Dan Frye got on the end of it in the 72nd minute, and the game ended 2-0. It was nice to get this win under our belt.”
–Props: “To the senior class in general. I ended up getting all our seniors in, and getting the seniors in against West is a big deal.
“Having Frye hit the back of the net is what broke it open, but major props to our senior class. Honestly, overall props to everyone involved in the Kick ALS event. It was just a great night for Bryan, and that’s what it’s all about.”
Next up: CB East (9-6-2, 5-4 SOL), No. 13 in the district power rankings, plays at North Penn on Wednesday. CB West (5-8-3, 1-7-1 SOL), No. 28 in the district heading into Monday, has a huge league finale Wednesday at home against Pennridge.
CB West 0 0 – 0
CB East 0 2 – 2

Central Bucks South 3, Pennridge 1
With one league game remaining, CB South clinched at least a share of the Colonial Division title with the solid win over Pennridge on Monday.
Josh Dozier, Anthony Bice and Evan Jaskelewicz scored goals for the Titans.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Josh Dozier (CBS) from Tyler Jaskelewicz
Second Half –
Anthony Bice (CBS) from Andrew Sherstynov
Evan Jaskelewicz (CBS) from AJ Okoniewski
Pennridge (P)
CB South coach Ed Brnardic on the win:
“The first half we were playing 11v11, and we took a 2-0 lead on two beautiful goals from two even better assists. But as the game wore on, and more and more Pennridge supporters showed up on their Senior Night, it started feeling like we were playing 11 v 300. Their fans did a great job creating an energetic atmosphere that their team fed off of. Thankfully, we put away a third goal to go up 3-0 before Pennridge really started to put some pressure on us. They did get one back, and probably should have scored more, except we have Pat VanLuvanee in goal.
–The goals: “The first goal was a beautiful redirect from Josh Dozier on a Tyler Jaskelewicz free kick. Josh made a near post run and Tyler dropped the ball right on his foot. With the Pennridge keeper coming out to cut off the angle, Josh re-directed the ball up and over into the goal.
“The second goal came from a beautiful cross from Andrew Sherstynov who had spun out of pressure and found Anthony Bice with a diagonal ball from 30 yards away. Anthony Bice headed the ball perfectly into the far corner.
“And the third goal started when Andrew Sherstynov intercepted a Pennridge pass and immediately connected with Rowan McDonald. Rowan played a nice combination with AJ Okoniewski before AJ got the ball back and fired a swerving shot that the Pennridge keeper couldn’t handle. Evan Jaskelewicz pounced on the loose ball and buried it.”
–Props for Pat VanLuvanee: “Player of the game for us again. Our defense did a very good job dealing with Pennridge’s attack tonight, but there were two clear cut chances that we gave up – these were expected goals – and in the blink of an eye Pat grows to be 12 feet tall, and he devours the ball. It’s amazing to watch. From the sidelines we see the play develop, we see the chance created, and we know the next thing is the ball is going to hit the back of the net, but then Pat says no. He’s unbelievable.”
–For Josh Dozier: “Any other game, Josh is our man of the match. I can’t wait to see his heat map – he painted the field red from box to box tonight. He scored the opening goal for us, which was huge when you are playing on the road against a tough opponent on their Senior Night. It was a beautiful redirect from a Tyler Jaskelewicz free kick. And his play in the middle was dynamite – creating turnovers and quarterbacking our attack.”
–For Rowan McDonald: “Rowan was an anchor for our midfield today. He organized us in our build out and in our counterattack, and he gave Josh Dozier and Tyler Jaskelewicz the space they needed to do their things. And this is coming from a guy who is naturally a center back. Rowan looks more comfortable every game, and tonight he reminded me of a young Casemiro, so strong in tackles, and breaking up plays by reading the game and cutting off passes. He also contributed in the buildup of our third goal, connecting with AJ Okoniewski to break through the Pennridge midfield.
–For Andrew Sherstynov: “Andrew is our Paolo Maldini. He was rock solid defensively yet again, and he is so dangerous on the dribble contributing to our attack. The guy can play any side of the field, and he is constantly shutting down opposing attacks. He has come so close to scoring several times this year, but tonight he got on the score sheet from a gorgeous assist to Anthony Bice which ended up being the game-winning goal. Andrew wasn’t finished contributing offensively – our third goal also started from Andrew. He read the Pennridge attack perfectly and intercepted a pass with an opposing player applying massive pressure. In this situation, most defenders would have immediately cleared the ball from danger, and the counterattack opportunity would have been over before it even got started. But Andrew had his head up, so he knew where everyone was ahead of time and he laid off a simple pass which kept us in possession of the ball which eventually led to our third goal.”
Pennridge coach Aaron Rapsinski on the loss:
“Shoutout to my 10 seniors. We celebrated Senior Night tonight, and I gave our seniors a pretty good run. They stepped up and played great against a really good South team. Gavin Dimmick made a handful of really good saves from some really good shots. Roman Arcade, Jackson DeMeester, Logan Fultz all played the entire game in the back and withstood a lot of pressure throughout the game. Sal D’Aquino, Andrew Levush, Ricky Guerra, and Logan Lear all battled in midfield, and Logan Lamaina and Lucas Glibowski both put in a ton of work up top.
“South got on us early with a couple of really well worked goals. The boys never stopped fighting. We pulled one back with 20 minutes left in the second half. Bryan Lopez played a cross in, it bounced off Ricky Guerra and Logan Lamaina and squeaked through the defense to an open Jace Soto, who put it in the back of the net. We had a few other chances where their keeper made really good saves to keep it out.
“Hats off to my seniors. It hasn’t been the year we were looking forward to, but the boys continue to fight game in and game out. Regardless of playoffs or the chance to get in, we want to close the season on a high note. We’ll throw the kitchen sink at CB West on Wednesday.”
Next up: CB South (14-2, 8-1 SOL), No. 4 in District One going into Monday, hosts Souderton on Friday night with the Colonial Division title on the line. Pennridge (5-10-2, 1-7-1 SOL) plays at CB West on Wednesday.
Pennridge 0 1 – 1
CB South 2 1 – 3
Souderton 2, North Penn 0
Souderton kept its division title hopes alive with a solid 2-0 win over visiting North Penn on Senior Night on Monday.
Tannor Wisznewski and AJ Pisoni scored second half goals to lift the Indians to the victory. Drew Kerns assisted on both goals.
Scoring Summary
Second Half –
Tannor Wiszneski (S) from Drew Kerns.
AJ Pisoni (S) from Drew Kerns
Souderton coach Fred DeMas on the victory:
“First half was a good battle, the wind played a big factor, and North Penn had some of the better play.
“At the start of the second half, it was still 0-0 but Souderton was playing a lot better. Still an even game, but the breakthrough came when Drew Kerns, the man of the match, played a great slip pass to Tannor Wiszneski, who had a clinical finish.
“North Penn put some good pressure on, but our defense played so well and so did Trevor in goal.
“Then late, Lukas Sailer won a ball that started a counter, and again Drew Kerns played an incredible ball to AJ Pisoni. Pisoni knows how to find the goal and put the game away for us.
–Props: “Shoutouts to all our seniors tonight. They brought a lot of energy and played well. Watkins and Alderfer had the clean sheets tonight.
–Props for NP: “North Penn I thought played well tonight, and Miller and Dimitri were very dangerous.
“Special moment and shoutout to Coach (Paul) Duddy tonight. It was very cool getting to coach against my club coach from 20 years ago. Such a great guy and coach.”
Next up: Souderton (14-2, 7-2 SOL), No.5 in the district power rankings, next has a nonleague game at Cheltenham on Thursday. North Penn (10-7, 4-5 SOL), No. 12 in the district, hosts CB East on Wednesday night.
North Penn 0 0 – 0
Souderton 0 2 – 2
SOL Liberty Division
Plymouth Whitemarsh 1, Abington 0
In a game that looked like it could be a mismatch on paper, Plymouth Whitemarsh pulled off the upset of the season in the Suburban One League, as the Colonials knocked off an Abington team that was previously unbeaten in the division and looking to clinch a championship on Monday night.
PW’s Bashiru Adams scored the game’s only goal with 20 minutes remaining, and the defense held strong the rest of the way to post the shocking win.
It was just the third win of the season for the Colonials, who dropped their first 11 games of the season but are 3-2 in their last five.
Scoring Summary
Second Half –
Bashiru Adams (PW)
PW coach Cory Lush on the victory:
So, tonight was … an incredible win. I think, in general, our boys have been steadily growing throughout the course of the season. We waited 11 games to get our first result, and since then, it’s been like watching a completely different team. I’m proud of the progress and obviously thrilled to get such a high profile win.
“We knew heading into the game that Abington would attempt to utilize the flanks, so we set up in a 3-5-2 to try and deny them that space and force them central. For the most part, it was effective, but Abington is such a dangerous team that no matter what you do they will always find a way to threaten you. Our boys were up to the challenge tonight and I couldn’t be prouder.”
–The game-winner: “Tonight’s result was a team effort, but our seniors Bashiru Adams and Dan Hurst have been instrumental in leading the attack for us. Adams scored the game winner for us tonight, dispossessing an Abington center back and finding the back of the net with about 20 min remaining.”
–Props: “Dan Hurst, who transitioned to center forward, has brought hold up play and effective runs behind the defense, which in turn has freed up space for the midfield to work.
“Finally, senior captain Myles Kaye was incredible on both sides of the ball tonight, providing valuable distribution and effective defending in the middle of the pitch.
Next up: Abington (10-4-3, 7-1-1 SOL), No. 7 in the district power rankings heading into Monday, has another chance to wrap up the division title Wednesday at Quakertown. PW (3-13, 2-7 SOL) has another tough one Wednesday at home against Upper Dublin.
Abington 0 0 – 0
PW 0 1 – 1
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Upper Dublin 1
A couple early goals set the tone in this one, as Hatboro-Horsham went on the road and knocked off Upper Dublin on the Flying Cardinals’ Senior Night on Monday.
Christian Patelmo and Logan Gisondi each scored in the first 13 minutes of the game for the Hatters.
Kevin Long helped wrap up the game with a second-half goal in the 71st minute.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Christian Patelmo (HH) from Logan Adams 6th minute
Logan Gisondi (HH) 13th minute
Dylan Plaku (UD) from Reilly McLaughlin 38th minute
Second Half –
Kevin Long (HH) from Christian Patelmo 71st minute
Hatboro-Horsham coach Kyle McGrath on the win:
“We played very well. It was Upper Dublin’s Senior Night, so those nights are always tricky for the home team. My guys were fired up to play. We started with the early goal, which is always beneficial, and then we were able to score the second one. We withstood a lot of pressure the rest of the first half, and Upper Dublin scored.
“The second half was a lot of the same. Defensively, we were blocking shots, clearing the ball, doing a lot of things really well. We did get fortunate – they had a PK they missed, so both teams missed a PK. We were able to get the ball forward and get the insurance goal off a set piece which let us all breathe a little bit because we had been under pressure so long in the second half.”
–The goals: “We scored in the sixth minute. Logan Clayton played a great ball into Christian Patelmo, who took a touch and was able to finish past the goalkeeper.
“We went up 2-0 in the 13th minute. We had a penalty kick that was saved, but Logan Gisondi followed it up and scored the rebound after the goalkeeper made a good save.
“Upper Dublin scored in the 28th minute, and we scored our third goal in the 71st minute. Kevin Long scored. We had a corner kick. Louis Matullo played the ball in, Christian Patelmo headed it back across at the back post, and Kevin headed it in to give us an insurance goal with nine minutes left.”
–Props: “We moved Luke Weiss back to center back again today, and he played really well back there next to Will Fisher. Nick Bellizzie played a really good left back, and Logan Clayton played in the center midfield for us and was all over the field and created the first goal for us. Those guys really had a good performance tonight.”
Upper Dublin Coach Noah Johnson: “It was definitely a tough way to see the seniors out, but we’re going to have to refocus with the playoffs coming up.”
–The UD goal: “Reilly McLaughlin did what he normally does. He did everything for us and tried to bail us out. He was able to get by their right outside back on the sideline and then crossed it over to Dylan, who was able to the find the back of the net.”
Next up: H-H (8-7-1, 5-4 SOL) hosts Wissahickon in the division finale on Wednesday night. Upper Dublin (9-6-1, 6-2-1 SOL), No. 18 in the district before Monday, plays at Plymouth Whitemarsh on Wednesday.

Cheltenham coach Bill Tonkin on the win:
“It was our Senior Night (and) 15 seniors was a chore to get in the game, but they all played about 20 minutes, and they all did a great job for us tonight.”
–The goals: “About 25 minutes into the first half, Jordan Rodriguez hit a great shot from the right side of the box off of a great pass from Zack Rosser to give us a 1-0 lead. About 10 minutes into the second half, Billy Fishman hit a shot past their keeper off a feed from Xavi Chanione to put us up 2-0. That gave us the breathing room to get the seniors more playing time, and they finished out the game. We played really well. The game was affected by the wind, but we were able to capitalize on the opportunities we got. Proud of the boys’ performance tonight.”
