Neshaminy scored the first three goals of the game, and while Bensalem battled valiantly, the Owls could not make up the deficit as Neshaminy earned a 5-2 victory in Wednesday’s Patriot Division game.
Brody Collins scored a pair of second-half goals and also had an assist for Neshaminy – ranked 18th in the latest PIAA 4A rankings. Ryan MacMullen had a pair of assists and added a goal.
With the visitors trailing 3-0, Bensalem mounted a late first-half comeback attempt, with Jordan Posten scoring off a Chase Esposito setup, then Posten returning the favor and assisting on Esposito’s goal seven minutes later to cut the deficit to 3-2 at halftime.

Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
—On the game: “Bensalem was excited to play. We jumped on them pretty good early on. All three of our goals were really nice goals off of nice passing sequences. The first goal Damien Castro got was a nice give-and-go at the top of the 18. Damien had a clean look. All he had to do was put it in the side panel. It was a really nice goal.
“On our second goal, Ryan went on a breakaway with a nice finish. We got up 3-0 and kind of took the wind out of their sails. We just decided to make a pass back to our own goalkeeper inside our own box, and it never got there. It went right to a Bensalem kid, and they got it to 3-1.
“Then it was 3-2, and we told them at halftime – we let them back in the door, so you have to put them away. They took what we said and put them away pretty early, which was good. It took the wind out of their sails. We were down in their end for a solid 20 minutes, and then we got the fifth goal, and we started rolling subs in.”
—Props: “Overall, it was a very good game. Brody Collins shined tonight. He had two goals and had an assist. He really put people in motion, which was nice to see. Ryan MacMullen did a really nice job up top. Both of those kids have been fighting it a little bit, so they got back on track for tomorrow night, which would be great for them. Win one more game and see how the power rankings shake out.”
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock on Senior Night: “Senior Night is always a fun night and we got to recognize our seniors tonight: Enew Garcia, Isaac Mathieu, Lucas Ferrandez, Frank Bediako, Edwin Ramirez-Lopez, and Queny Yanza.”
—Battling back: “We had a rough start to the game as we went down 3-0 after about 24 minutes. Despite the rough start, the boys continued to battle and we were able to get one back when Chase Esposito slotted a ball across to Jordan Posten for the finish. We were then able to get another one back with about seven seconds left in the half when Jordan Posten returned the favor by slotting a ball through to Chase Esposito for the finish. We felt like we had pretty positive momentum going into the second half but we couldn’t capitalize. Neshaminy ended up scoring two in the second half to finish off the game.”
Up next: Neshaminy will host Garnet Valley at 7 pm tonight for its Senior Night game. Bensalem will travel to Council Rock South at 7 pm Thursday.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2, PENNSBURY 0
In a Patriot Division battle wrought with district playoff implications, Council Rock South – seeded 23rd in the latest rankings) scored once in each half to pull out a 2-0 victory over Pennsbury – seeded 29th – on Wednesday.
Sean Davis opened the scoring on a Diego Soto-Pinzon setup off a corner kick. Ryan Conway provided the insurance goal in the second half off an assist from Reid Van Demark.
Scoring summary
First half
Sean Davis (CRS) from Diego Soto-Pinzon
Second half
Ryan Conway (CRS) from Reid Van Demark
Council Rock South assistant coach Zach Orenstein: “This was a great team win for us tonight. Pennsbury played with a ton of energy and certainly had us on our heels for portions of the game. Credit to Coach Stoddart and his team; it was a really competitive game.”
—Getting the goals: “We opened the scoring in the first half on a corner kick. Diego Soto-Pinzon served a great ball that Sean Davis got up and won clean to put it in the back of the net. It was back-and-forth for a while though, until halftime, and then early in the second half.
“Midway through the second half, Darius Degregorio drove into their end and got fouled, setting up a free kick from about 25 out. Sean Davis played a low free kick to Reid Van Demark, who was cutting into the 6. Reid flicked it on to Ryan Conway for a great goal.”
—Props: “Sean Davis was outstanding tonight. I have to give him credit for his decision making on our second goal. Nine times out of 10, that ball gets shot on goal. It was a perfect set-up for a highlight reel free kick goal. I credit Sean for his maturity to pass the ball there. It was a pretty goal that he won’t get credit for, but he made a very selfless play.
“Our back line of Timmy Grabowski, Owen Lubieski, Diego Soto-Pinzon, and Ryan Conway as well as keeper Noah Selekman deserve credit for the clean sheet tonight. Pennsbury threw the kitchen sink at them and they stood tall.
—Looking ahead: “The energy was contagious tonight. I really thought the guys battled for each other for 80 minutes. It is a nice win as far as the playoff push goes. It will be nice to finish up at home for our Senior Night on Thursday. I know I speak for Coach Nicholl, Coach Ciaudelli and Coach Burns when I say we are looking forward to celebrating the seniors and their families for all they have done for our program.”
Up next: Council Rock South will host Bensalem Thursday (7pm) in its Senior Night game. Pennsbury will travel to Holy Ghost Prep for a non-league game Thursday.

Colonial Division
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 6, NORTH PENN 0
After suffering a loss to archrival Central Bucks West on Monday that would ultimately cost the Patriots the Colonial Division crown, the Patriots responded in fine fashion, pouring in five second-half goals to decisively beat North Penn 6-0 in Wednesday’s Colonial Division game.
The Patriots – seeded ninth in the latest PIAA 4A rankings – received two goals from Jack Thibeault and a pair of assists from Alden Iurato and Ethan Cruz in topping the Knights, seeded 25th in the latest rankings.

Central Bucks East coach Josh Isaacsohn: “I’m very, very pleased. A lot of energy from everybody.
“It was a very tight first half. I would say we had the better of play for the first 20-25 minutes and just could not finish the ball. Their keeper had some very nice saves, and their defenders played well.
“North Penn and East have a longstanding rivalry, and that
was brought to the table in the first half, and we knew that the first goal was going to be big. With five minutes left in the half, Francisco Martinez scored off a Dustin Weber assist, so we went into halftime 1-0.
“At half, we had a long talk about how the next goal was huge. We felt that if we let them in the game 1-1, we were really in trouble, but if we went up 2-0, we could start to open it up, and that’s what happened.”
–Man of the match: “I would like to give special props to Chase Oefinger. Chase is a boy who actually was cut his junior year after having a really bad tryout, and he worked his tail off for an entire year. He came back this year, his senior year, and he came back a changed kid and a changed player, and he’s just worked and worked and worked. He got the start tonight, and he played just an absolutely incredible game. He was absolutely our man of the match. We are just so incredibly proud of Chase Oefinger.”
Up next: Central Bucks East and North Penn will return to action in Tuesday’s opening round of the District 1 4A Tournament.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, SOUDERTON 1
Souderton gave Central Bucks South all it could handle on Wednesday, including a second-half deficit, but the Titans battled back with three late goals to pull out a 3-1 victory over the Big Red and earn its second straight Colonial Division title.
“Despite going 0-2 at the start of the season, we came back and won the division title,” said South’s Josh Dozier. “We couldn’t have done it without all of our team coming together and being a family to push towards two goals: Winning the
division and playing our best football at the end of the year. Coming off of a division title last year, we had a lot of pressure but managed to push through adversity and came out on top.”
Marvin Rodriguez put Souderton – seeded 19th in the most recent PIAA 4A rankings – ahead 1-0 with 15 minutes left in the game.
But the Titans didn’t panic. And it paid off. Tyler Jaskelewicz knotted the game off a Jackson Tait setup with six minutes left in the game. Jaskelewicz returned the favor just a minute later, assisting on Tait’s go-ahead goal, then the two connected again on a Tait-to-Jaskelewicz score in the waning minutes of the game to make it a 3-1 count for the Titans, who are seeded 10th in District 4A.
“We were down 1-0 in an important game to win the division for the second year in a row against the same team,” Jaskelewicz said. “It was surprising and scary but with about six minutes left, we had a free kick. I was going to take it but my teammate and coach told me to let Rowan (McDonald) take it. I went into the box, Rowan served it to Jackson Tait’s head, who headed it down to me and I scored.
“Everything happened quickly – Tait scored right after me, and then I scored a third goal to seal the win. Souderton played really hard and were a strong team both on and off the ball. They will make a strong run in the playoffs.”

Central Bucks South coach Ed Brnardic: “We were not at our best tonight. Credit to Souderton – they were deserving of at least a draw, but our guys believed in each other and managed to come back late in the match. It took us a little bit of time to get used to the smaller field, but we figured it out at the end of the match. We were able to take advantage of a free kick and a couple quick plays from our keeper to get us quickly on the attack and score the three goals.”
—Titan tallies: “On the first goal, Rowan McDonald hit a perfect free kick from midfield to Jackson Tait in the box. Jackson headed the ball across to Tyler Jaskelewicz, who finished low to the keeper’s right side. On the second goal it was Nate Monser who jumped on a loose ball and connected with Tyler Jaskelewicz. Tyler found Jackson Tait and Jackson chopped the ball past the defender and scored in the bottom left corner. The third goal came quickly after when Josh Dozier chipped a ball over the top. Jackson Tait ran on the ball and dished it over to Tyler Jaskelewicz, who dribbled past the goalie to the left and put the ball into the goal.”
—Player of the match: “No question about it – tonight Ryan Weiner was our best player. Souderton had several good chances in the game but Ryan came up huge for us and he gave us a chance to make the comeback.”
Souderton coach Frank DeMas: “Tough one tonight. I thought we were fantastic for 74 minutes tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see out the full 80 minutes. We defended so well, made good decisions on the ball in the middle and created so many chances. We were fantastic everywhere, except in front of goal tonight. The goal we scored was really nice when Diaz cut the ball make for Rodriguez to take the one-goal lead.
“From there we continued playing really well. We built up well, got in the box and couldn’t finish the game off. I feel for our guys, I think they deserved a better result. But this is how it goes at times.
“Credit to South. They took their chances and buried them. That was the difference.”
Up next: Central Bucks South and Souderton will return to action in Tuesday’s opening round of the District 1 4A Tournament.

Michael Rafalowski (CBW)
Central Bucks West coach John Adair: “It wasn’t our best performance of the season, but our boys were able to keep their composure in a game that required us to be patient to get our goals.”
—Props: “To get another clean sheet is big for us as we come toward the end of the regular season because it requires everyone that plays to be bought in to what it takes for all 80 minutes. Naturally, with that said, I could very easily mention everyone that contributed tonight but I probably haven’t given Michael Rafalowski his flowers enough this season. He wasn’t feeling well tonight, and while he would probably tell you it wasn’t his best game of the season, he pops up with two big goals for us out of midfield.”
—Backfield stands out: “While we were a bit open early in the game, our back three grew into the game really, really well and didn’t give much of anything in the way of chances later on. Those guys (Kieran, Xan, and Ethan) are so steady and their profiles complement each other really nicely. When they’re playing well, they make it difficult for any opponent while also giving us the platform to play the way we want to play going forward.”
—Honoring Pennridge’s seniors: “It’s important to acknowledge Pennridge’s seniors on their Senior Night. They went through a lot in terms of injuries, but the way they battled, particularly in the second half of the season, is really admirable and a testament to what Aaron and that staff stands for. It was great to see Parker Annon, who’s been hurt all season, get back on the field for them as well, even very limited. It’s a shame to see any player’s season end due to injury, let alone a senior and a class act like Parker.”
Pennridge coach Aaron Rapinski: “It was our Senior Night and the boys were buzzing before the game. Our senior group has been through a lot this season. I feel the need to give each of them a shout out. They deserve that.
“Parker Annan, one of our captains, has missed the whole season with an injury. It was awesome to get him a start for a minute and have him finish the last minute on the field. He’s stepped up and basically been part of the coaching staff all season. It just shows what a leader he is.
“Tommy Loughran, Bryan Lopez, and Jace Soto were indispensable this season. All three of them played every available minute throughout the season. I can’t thank those guys enough, not just for being the only seniors to avoid injuries but for leaving everything they had out on the field every game. We wouldn’t have made it through this season without their efforts.
“Gavin Coyne, Bradley Rendler, and Conor Burke all had to miss a handful of games each throughout the season for injuries, but when they were available, they were always a go-to option and played a ton of minutes.
“Dylan Coyne and Owen Burke both had to miss significant time for injuries. Owen has been battling injury since last season and hadn’t seen the field until tonight. Dylan was sidelined from our second scrimmage up until last week. It was great to get them back in with the group to end out the season.
“And finally, Gavin Mill stepped up big time in net. He only got one other start and a handful of minutes in other games throughout the year, but he was someone always busting his butt at practice, always helping coaches and players throughout the year. It was great to see him have such a good game even if the end result wasn’t what we wanted. He made a handful of key saves tonight including a penalty.
“It was awesome to see this group finally be able to all be out on the field together again. It was an emotional night. It is going to be tough knowing those guys aren’t coming back next year. I just want to say thank you again to the players and their families for the four years they have been a part of this program.”

HATBORO-HORSHAM 5, WISSAHICKON 4
A spot in the district playoffs was not in the cards for Hatboro-Horsham, but that doesn’t mean the Hatters didn’t have anything to play for.
Trailing 3-1 at halftime of their final game of the season, the Hatters battled back, netting four goals in the second half to pull out a wild 5-4 victory over Wissahickon – seeded 27th in the latest PIAA 4A rankings – in Wednesday’s Liberty Division game.
“It was definitely back-and-forth and just a crazy second half for both teams,” said Hatboro-Horsham Kyle McGrath. “We didn’t have a ton to play for other than representing Hatboro-Horsham the best we could. I’m super-proud of the guys because they battled to the very end and were able to get the win.”
Kevin Long and Louis Matullo each scored two second-half goals for the Hatters. Senior Will Fisher scored the first goal of his varsity career to open the scoring for H-H just four minutes in off an Aaron Ciciarelli corner kick, but Wissahickon ended the half with three unanswered goals to take the lead and set up the second half fireworks.

Hatboro-Horsham Kyle McGrath:
—The season: “It’s been a trying season for us. We’ve had quite a few injuries to key guys. At one point in the season, we were down five starters in a game. It would have been easy for my guys to kind of give up on the season, but they battled Monday against Upper Dublin and lost a heartbreaker in overtime. And then today, it was 3-1 at halftime, and things could have gone very poorly, but credit to the seniors. It was actually all seniors who scored goals and all seniors who had assists.
“I’m super-proud of the whole group for not quitting on the game today and continuing to fight until the final whistle.
—Seniors lead the way: “Louis Matullo and Kevin Long are two of our captains. They asked us at halftime if they could play up top together. Obviously, that paid off with those guys scoring four of the goals in the second half.
“Will Fisher scored his first varsity goal in his last varsity game. He’s played center back for us for three years, so that was great to see.”
Up next: Hatboro-Horsham closed out its season with a 6-11-1 record while Wissahickon – firmly on the bubble at 28th – will await its fate on Saturday at the District 1 meeting.

UPPER DUBLIN 2, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 1
Upper Dublin celebrated its seniors with a win in Wednesday’s division finale. Kaleb Abebe turned a pass from Jake Picker into a goal five minutes into the game, and that 1-0 lead stood until Chase Rappaport found the net 10 minutes into the second half, using a Leo Kuznits assist.
The Colonials battled the entire game, but could not erase a two-goal deficit. A goal by Matt Guie (Dom Lorenti assist) late in the second half cut UD’s lead in half, but the Colonials would get no closer.
The division runner-up Cards are seeded 22nd in the latest District One 4A rankings.

“Thank you to all of my seniors. It has been an honor and a privilege being a part of your journey. I hope that this program and our coaching staff has brought you many enjoyable memories and taught you life lessons that will help you succeed in the future!”
Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Toni Washington: “Shout out to the entire team we battled as the underdogs. We were missing a lot due to injuries and illnesses. Down 1-0 early but kept them there until half. In the second half, we go down 2-0 then Matt Guie was able to punch one in from Dom Lorenti’ s pass causing chaos in the box, making it 2-1.
“We did not give up and showed heart and passion for the last game. I told them to leave it out there on field. They did their best and that all I can ask for. Despite our record this year, we have improved so much compared to our first few games. I’m very excited for the returners next year.”

SPRINGFIELD TWP 8, CHELTENHAM 2
(Springfield Twp information will be added when received.)
(Submitted by Cheltenham soccer)
On a special night honoring Cheltenham’s seniors, the Panthers closed out their season with a spirited performance against Springfield Twp, ultimately falling 8-2 in a high-energy contest under the lights at Arcadia University.
The game began with both sides evenly matched, and Cheltenham nearly got on the board early. Billy Fishman narrowly missed from close range, and Jayce also came close to putting the Panthers ahead. Despite their strong start, it was Springfield who struck first, capitalizing on a midfield turnover and finishing with a precise shot into the top right corner to go up 1-0.
The Spartans – seeded fifth in the latest District One 4A rankings – doubled their lead shortly after with a quick counterattack. Cheltenham goalkeeper Wolf Brown managed to get his fingertips to the shot but couldn’t keep it out, making it 2-0 to the visitors.
Cheltenham responded through standout senior Ean Justice, who started the play from the back, beat several defenders on a determined run, and finished calmly into the bottom left corner to bring the score to 2-1.
The second half opened with Emile Chanoine surging forward, dancing past multiple defenders before being brought down just outside the Springfield box. Justice’s resulting free kick narrowly missed the post. Springfield then regained control with a third goal, followed by another Cheltenham counterattack — again led by Chanoine, who made a dazzling run from deep but couldn’t find the finish.
Springfield capitalized with two quick strikes, extending their lead to 5-1. Cheltenham answered with a creative move: after a foul near midfield, Justice delivered a pinpoint pass to Brown — who had come out of goal to join the attack — and Brown calmly slotted it home to make it 5-2.
Chanoine continued to torment Springfield’s defense with several dangerous runs and shots, though none found the net. With ten minutes remaining, Cheltenham’s coaching staff gave every senior and bench player a chance to take the field on Senior Night.
Despite the result, the match was filled with standout individual efforts and a clear display of heart from Cheltenham.
–Props: Notable performers for the Panthers included Emile Chanoine, who was consistently dangerous in the attack and created numerous chances with his dribbling and pace; Wolf Brown, who played both as goalkeeper and outfield, scoring a goal and making key saves; and Ean Justice, who scored a solo goal, assisted another, and filled in at goalkeeper, showing versatility and leadership.
Up next: Springfield Twp will receive an opening round bye in the District 1 4A Tournament. Cheltenham closed out its season with a 6-12 record.
Springfield Twp 2 6 – 8
Cheltenham 1 1 – 2
