SOL non-league crossover
Central Bucks West 4, Hatboro-Horsham 2
It was a stellar day all around for Central Bucks West.
Sparked by the hat trick of Beck Walton, the Bucks topped Hatboro-Horsham 4-2 in Friday’s nonleague matchup.
But this was so much more than a one-man effort. The Bucks were able to empty their bench and get all the players time on the field in an all-around team effort.
Finn Marsden scored the Hatters’ first goal on a penalty kick.

Central Bucks West coach John Adair: “We’ve had our share of ups and down this season in terms of results, but the performances from the beginning of the season until now are night and day. It was a great night for us, and to get everyone on the field tonight was the icing on the cake. Those guys deserved the chance to play. They may not get the recognition, but to show up every day and train as hard as they do and support the program in the way that they do regardless of if they get off the bench or not is a testament to their character. They’re great kids that I’m fortunate to get to work with every day.”
—On the quick start: “We started well tonight, scoring early, and creating a couple other chances that we probably put away on a different day. Michael Rafalowski and Beck Walton obviously showed their quality today with goals and assists, but it was a night that everyone truly played a role.”
—Props: “I have to give a ton of credit to Emad Bokhari as well. He was sick in our last game, and we really missed his presence on the back line. He provides so much stability to our team, in terms of leadership, ability in the air, and ability to play out of the back. He’s a selfless kid, and I think the whole team is really happy for him to be playing so well.”
Hatboro-Horsham coach Kyle McGrath: “Credit to CB West for their win tonight. They were able to get behind us quite easily and made us pay. Tough week for us, hopefully we can bounce back next week. I am proud of the effort to keep battling until the end of the game tonight, hopefully we can build off of that.”

Nonleague
Avon Grove 4, Plymouth Whitemarsh 1
Plymouth Whitemarsh played well against an Avon Grove team ranked sixth in the latest District 1 6A power rankings, but the Colonials suffered a closer-than-it-looked 4-1 loss.
Gianni Yanak scored the Colonials’ lone goal (Joe Milligan assist) with10 minutes left in the second half.
Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Toni Washington: “It was 4-1 on paper but a much better performance from our team after resetting. We still have gaps in our offense, but we competed against a team who is ranked seventh with a winning streak and that’s all I can ask for.”
Up next: The Colonials will host Central Bucks West in a crossover game on Tuesday.
Conwell-Egan Catholic 2, Council Rock South 1
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Council Rock South netted a goal late in the second half but could not pull even in dropping a hard-fought 2-1 loss to nonleague opponent Conwell-Egan.
Brian Hyams scored the Hawks’ goal.
Council Rock South coach Alan Nicholl: “We were down 2-0 at halftime, but were very much in the game. I think the scoreline really flattered Egan. We’ve hit a tough spell in our season and are struggling right now, but the boys showed great resiliency and desire today. I couldn’t be more proud of their belief as we chased a 2-0 deficit. Brian Hyams clawed a goal back with less than 10 to play to make it a close finish. We never threw in the towel and fought like dogs to chase a result. I really thought we were good value for the points today, but it just didn’t work out. Jake Sadkhin, Madden Burns, Nolan Graham, and Matthew Orsini were warriors today!”
Up next: The Hawks will host Cheltenham on Tuesday.
