Andrew Price (B), 4-2
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:
–The scoring: “We scored our first goal about 16 minutes into the first half when Tommy Hurst won a Lansdale goal kick, stepped into space, and fired a shot from about 25, 30 yards out for his first goal of the season. We then scored about a minute later as Aboubacar Bayo scored on an assist from Chase Esposito.
“We came out strong in the second half and went up 3-1 as Aboubacar returned the favor and assisted on a Chase Esposito goal. Lansdale scored about 32 minutes into the half to make it 3-2 but we put it away with a penalty kick goal from Andrew Price with about 2 minutes left.”
–The flow of the game: “The boys played really well today. Our possession was good, and we played quickly and efficiently today. We had a lot of opportunities to score additional goals but just couldn’t find that last connection. Everything leading up to those moments was something to build on.”

Lansdale Catholic 1 1 – 2

Central Bucks East 4, Notre Dame Academy (NJ) 2
Dan Frye scored three goals – with two coming from Sean O’Donnell assists – as Central Bucks East downed Notre Dame Academy (NJ) in Saturday’s nonleague contest. The Patriots fell behind early but netted a pair of goals before halftime to take a 2-1 lead at the break.
Scoring Summary
First Half
Notre Dame goal
Dan Frye (CBE)
Nick Benargo (CBE) from Sean O’Donnell
Second Half
Dan Frye (CBE) from Sean O’Donnell
Dan Frye (CBE) from Timmy Reimer
CB East coach Josh Isaacson:
–The scoring: “We came out not as crisp as we should be, and we had some defensive lapses and left them go up 1-0 in the first 20 minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Aidan Pasternik got taken down in the box, Dan Frye converted the penalty kick. In the 35th minute, Sean O’Donnell assisted a really nice lofted ball, and Nick Bonargo head-flicked it in, so it was 2-1 at half.
“At the 50th minute, Sean O’Donnell had another assist for Dan Frye’s second goal, and in the 61st minute Timmy Reimer assisted Dan Frye on his third goal for a hat trick.”
—Props: “Obviously, Frye with the three-goal effort, but honestly, it was a full team effort. “We were able to get all of our guys in. Kudos to our defense. We went down 1-0, and we were a little bit slow and discombobulated on a Saturday morning, but they got it together. Eric Schmidt and Koen Reid really pulled it through, but when we were down, Dan Frye just took the team on his back. And his third goal, in particular, was just a singlehanded effort where he beat three guys and his left-footed shot hit the post, went down and went in. It was just incredible.”
Next up: East (7-5-2, 3-3-0 SOL) will visit Pennridge for a 7 pm Tuesday game.
Central Bucks East 2 2 – 4
Notre Dame (NJ) 1 1 – 2
Upper Moreland 1, Dock Mennonite Academy 0 (OT)
The Golden Bears put a damper on Dock’s homecoming game with an overtime win.
Gabe Hendrickson converted a penalty kick early in the first overtime period to give the Bears the win in a contest that saw both teams have their share of opportunities. Jackson Stuetz earned the penalty kick.
Upper Moreland coach Justin Allegra on the game: “Both teams had multiple opportunities but did not score in regulation. About halfway through the first overtime Jackson Stuetz earned a penalty kick and Gabe Hendrickson converted it for the win.”
–Props: “The back line of Vito, Barrett, Cleary, and keeper Jacob Snyder are to be congratulated on the shutout. The MVV, most valuable Vito, of the match is freshman Vinny Vito who started his first varsity match and helped to preserve the shutout.”
Upper Moreland (4-9, 1-5 SOL) will travel to New Hope-Solebury on Tuesday (7 pm).
Upper Moreland 0-0-1 1

Hatboro-Horsham 1, Archbishop Wood 1 (2 OT)
Christian Patelmo scored in the second half off a setup from Miller Kahmar to tie the score at 1-1 and force overtime. Neither team found the net in the extra frame as Hatboro-Horsham battled Archbishop Wood to a 1-1 tie in their annual matchup.
The Hatters honored their 11 seniors prior to the game.
Scoring Summary
First Half
Archbishop Wood (1-0)
Second Half
Christian Patelmo (H-H), assist by Miller Kahmar (1-1)
2 Overtimes
No Scoring
Hatboro-Horsham coach Kyle McGrath: “Wood opened the scoring in the 11th minute as we started to settle into the game. We started the second half with more urgency and fluidity in the attack. Our work rate was raised, and we were able to pressure them from the start.”
–On erasing the deficit: “We were finally rewarded in the 60th minute. Miller Kahmar beat his defender and played a ball across the box, where Christian Patelmo poked it into the goal after the goalkeeper made a save attempt. The game was evenly played after that, and we were not able to capitalize on a bunch of half chances. Defensively, we were able to handle their set pieces in overtime to end the game tied.”
Next up: The Hatters () will visit Quakertown at 7 pm Tuesday.
