SOL Patriot Division
Council Rock North 1, Council Rock South 0 (OT)
With a huge overtime win against its archrival, Council Rock North remained atop the Patriot Division standings, blanking Council Rock South by a 1-0 final score.
Matt Broznya scored the game-winner for the Indians, who have a one-game lead with two games remaining.
Scoring Summary:
Overtime –
Matt Broznya (CRN) assisted by Logan Adams, 96th minute
CR North assistant coach Brian Hoffman:
–The game-winner: “Obviously, it was a very well contested close game. We had at least three separate occasions where the ball pinged around the box for probably about five or six shots in a 5-10 second time span, and South’s goaltender and their defense buckled down over and over and over again throughout the game.
“This last one, there was one head ball in the midfield from Chase Murphy, it was played forward as a through ball to Logan Adams. Logan Adams drew the goaltender and defender to the side of the 18 and slotted the ball between the two for Matt Broznya, who was basically running a trailing defender, and he could just walk it into the back of the net.”
–Props: “Our center mids – Chase Murphy and David Morais – covered the midfield. It was like there were four of them they covered so much ground. They won so many balls in the air, they denied easy receptions for passes forward. They were phenomenal tonight.
“Logan Adams plays sometimes as a target forward and sometimes as part of a trio up there. He just hung tough with people draped all over him. He was able to maintain possession of the ball consistently.
“In the back, Darek Miller really commanded our back line and did a wonderful job of communicating and clearing balls and all the things we wanted him to do. He was like an on-field coach.”
Up next: Council Rock North will host Pennsbury on Monday (5pm), and Council Rock South will host Bensalem on Monday (7pm).
CR North 0 0 1 – 1
CR South 0 0 0 – 0
Pennsbury 1, Neshaminy 0
Ethan Ramas scored the game-winner in the 63rd minute and that proved the difference as Pennsbury celebrated Senior Night with the shutout win of its biggest rival, Neshaminy, on Thursday.
James Purdum and Cooper Stubbs combined for the shutout in goal for the Falcons.
Scoring Summary:
Second Half –
Ethan Ramas (P) from Nick Hryniszak, 63rd minute.
Pennsbury coach Tom Stoddart:
“Boys played with very high energy and Neshaminy matched our energy well. We took advantage of the limited opportunities both teams had, and found the goal to win the game.”
–On Senior Night: “We started all 10 seniors in the field, and they really brought the energy and set a tone to start the game and the guys that came off the bench matched that energy and played for their seniors tonight.
“And Ethan Ramas only got about six minutes in the game. Was very clutch and a huge spot for us.”
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
“Our difficulty scoring goals puts a lot of pressure on our defense to play a perfect game. You make one goof-up in the back, and they bury it. Kudos to them. It just makes it really difficult. Scoring one goal should not be the end of the world for us, but right now it seems like a huge mountain for us to climb to get that equalizer. We’re just struggling. That last pass kills us.
“Hopefully, we’ll figure it out tomorrow and get a couple of goals because we’re kind of in a must-win-out situation with our power ratings. We really have to take care of business moving forward.”
–Props: “I thought Julian Shaw played back-to-back really solid games in the middle of the back for us.”
Up next: Neshaminy will host Cheltenham in the completion of a non-league SOL crossover game, and Pennsbury will travel to Council Rock North Monday (5pm).
Neshaminy 0 0 – 0
Pennsbury 0 1 – 1
Bensalem 9, Harry S Truman 0
Chase Esposito and Edwin Ramirez-Lopez each had two first-half goals and Bensalem jumped up and rolled to the shutout win over visiting Truman on Thursday afternoon.
In all, seven different players scored goals for the Owls.

Edwin Ramirez-Lopez (B) from Danny Kalita
Second Half –
Dylan Barnhart (B) from Brian Bock
Cole Everett (B) from Aiden Price
Frank Bediako (B) from Aiden Price
Aiden Price (B) from Enew Garcia
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:
“We have been playing better lately, and it carried over into today’s game. The boys played well from the start, and we were able to get a couple goals early which was a confidence boost for us. Truman came out strong early in the second half, but we were able to withstand the early pressure and finish off the game. “
–Props: “Shout out to the defense (Enew Garcia, Danny Kalita, Isaac Mathieu, Ben Reinert, and Chris Fielding) and goalie Gavin Pesiri for the shutout.”
Up next: Bensalem will host Upper Moreland on Friday in a non-league SOL crossover, and Harry S Truman will be on the road at Neshaminy Monday.

SOL Colonial Division
Central Bucks East 4, Souderton 1
CB East jumped all over Souderton with three first-half goals to win an important one in the division championship race and also snapping the Indians’ eight-game win streak.
“We were very hyped up for this game,” said Patriots coach Josh Isaacsohn. “We’re really pushing to get to double-digit victories, which we did today, and I’m very proud of the guys for that.
“It was overall a team effort. We ended up getting almost every player into this game and a lot of guys who’ve given a lot of heart and soul this year who haven’t seen any minutes or very little minutes were able to see some time, and that was really nice.
“Massive respect to (Souderton coach Frank DeMas). He always has an organized team, and we know they’ve been hot and on a winning streak. We just ended up today being a little bit better as a team.”
Scoring Summary:
First Half –
Dustin Weber (CBE) from Jack Thibeault, 9th minute
Ethan Cruz (CBE) from Jack Thibeault, 21st minute
Aidan Pasternak (CBE) from Finley Rennie, 39th minute
Second Half –
Aidan Pasternak (CBE) from Ethan Cruz, 43rd minute
Marvin Rodridguez (S)
CB East coach Josh Isaacsohn:
–The game: “In the ninth minute, Jack Thibeault had an assist, and Dustin Weber hit an absolutely beautiful, about 20-yard shot upper 90 to start the scoring for us. In the 21st minute, Jack Thibeault on a ball from Ethan Cruz slid the ball past the goalie on a really nice goal. Right before half, in the 39th minute, Finley Rennie to Aidan Pasternak, who ended up scoring a really nice goal.
“We went into the half 3-0, but again, a team like Souderton and such a respected coach like Frank, we were not very comfortable even yet. We knew we really had to hold it down defensively, and luckily, about three minutes into the second half, Ethan Cruz had an assist to Aidan Pasternak to put us up 4-0.
“Credit to Souderton – in a very crafty play, he got behind us, drove the goal line and hit the inside panel. We ended up winning 4-1.”
–Props: “Credit to our defense and then up top especially Aidan Pasternak. Aidan has worked really hard this year. We’re just very proud of the progress he’s made and the hard work he’s putting in to become the player that he is.”
Souderton coach Frank DeMas:
“Good game for East. They were the better team today. They came out with more energy and took it to us the whole first half. We had a few bright moments, but ultimately, we were not good enough today.”
Up next: Central Bucks East will travel to Central Bucks West on Monday (7pm), and Souderton will travel to Dock Mennonite Academy for a non-league game Saturday (7pm).
Souderton 0 1 – 1
CB East 3 1 – 4
Central Bucks South 3, Central Bucks West 1
Jackson Tait scored twice in the first half, and added another in the second half, as CB South jumped in front and never looked back on the way to the 3-1 win over rival CB West on Thursday night.
“Last year, we were fortunate to have Anthony Bice up top,” said Titans coach Ed Brnardic. “Anthony knew how to score. He had 20 goals and was voted the Colonial Division player of the year. I couldn’t have imagined that anyone was going to come close to the productivity this season, but Jackson Tait has come to play.
“At the beginning of the season we had Jackson Tait lined up on the wing, and then after a few games we moved him up top. Jackson has been incredible and now has 19 goals with 2 games remaining. His first goal tonight showcased his speed and dribbling skills, and his third goal exhibited his technical ability when he hit a perfect volley from the top of the box into the bottom corner.”
Scoring Summary:
First Half –
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Tyler Jaskelewicz
Jackson Tait (CBS) (PK)
Second Half –
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Tyler Jaskelewicz
Michael Rafalowski (CBW) (PK)
CB South coach Ed Brnardic:
“I was super happy with how we played in the first half. We moved the ball well and created some good scoring chances against a very solid CB West defense that we respect immensely. We scored the first goal, and we kept attacking. We took a 2-0 lead into halftime, and we talked about getting the important third goal.
“We opened the second half strong and scored early to get the three-goal lead. At that point you could see us relax a bit, which poisoned our mentality and credit CB West for recognizing that. They started to take more possession from us, and they took advantage of their spell of possession which led to a handball in the box and a penalty kick. “
–Luka Giglio: “Luka had his best game of the season. Luka is a midfielder by trade and wasn’t playing much earlier this season because of the talent ahead of him. But Luka kept grinding at practice and he kept learning more and more of what is expected from him. Then a few weeks ago we got hit with some injuries and we desperately needed someone to step up and play right back. We approached Luka with the idea, and he decided to give it a go. After every game he studies the video and is eager to learn. He has been getting better and better. Today was his best game of the season. We couldn’t take him off the field. He was strong on defense and dynamic in attack.”
–Tyler Jaskelewicz/Josh Dozier: “Another tireless game from this duo in the midfield. I am thrilled that I get to coach these guys and that I don’t ever have to play against them – because they scare me. I call them Freddy and Jason because they remind me of the guys from the old horror movies. Every time you think you got away from them, and you are safe, they bust through the door and grab you again. They are relentless. They just keep coming after you and keep taking the ball away. Every practice and every game they lead the team in effort and tonight was no different.”

North Penn 2, Pennridge 1

Scoring Summary:
First Half –
Sam Turco (P) from Jace Soto
Second Half-
North Penn goal
North Penn goal
Pennridge coach Aaron Rapsinski:
“Tonight was our Pink Out Night. It’s always an important night for us. We had a great turnout to support the fight against breast cancer. We really appreciate the support our community shows for us and this cause.
“We had a slow start but settled in after about 10 mins. We played some really good soccer throughout the rest of the half and were able to go up 1-0 with 17 minutes left in the first half. Jace Soto made a great run and cross into the box and Sam Turco was able to finish.”
–The second half: “We withstood a lot of pressure in the second half. But it’s really frustrating to feel like we were robbed of a fair fight that half. Credit to North Penn playing without their two best players (both hurt), and they clawed back into the game. But after it was 1-1, we had an incident where we feel one of their players should have been sent off for a really late studs up clash with our keeper. Completely unnecessary.
“And their second goal came on a goal line scrum that the official called in while being 25 yards away. I don’t know how you can make that call. It would have been really nice to see how that game would have played out for the last 10 minutes if it was still 1-1 instead of just time wasting. But we were denied that and couldn’t come up with anything after they went up.”
Up Next: North Penn plays at West Chester Henderson on Saturday. Pennridge plays at CB South on Monday.

Matt Guie (PW) from Jake Bertin
Second Half –
Finn Lafferty (PW)
Louis Matullo (H-H)
Louis Matullo (H-H)
H-H coach Kyle McGrath:
“We went down 2-0 early in the second half but battled back to tie the score before regulation ended. Our first goal came from Louis Matullo after a half clearance, he took a shot from 25 yards out and beat the goalkeeper with a great shot.
“We continued to push for the equalizer and were rewarded in the 76th minute when Louis got on the end of a second ball off a Will Fisher free kick to tie the game.
“Overtime was back and forth with both teams creating transition opportunities. Our freshman goalkeeper, Owen Fagan, made a great save as time was winding down in the second overtime.
“We did not play well the first 50 minutes, but I am proud of the guys for battling back, especially with the injuries that occurred during the game. We are looking forward to celebrating our seniors on Saturday night.”
PW coach Toni Washington:
“This is by far the best I’ve seen this team look all season so proud of the effort and grit we showed tonight. Shout out to center backs Spencer Long and Kevin DiMarco for being a brick wall, winning everything in the back. Shout out to our goalkeeper, Zach Halbert, for some huge saves keeping the opponent scoreless in the first half.
“However, set pieces got the best of us twice and we were even again.
“Our offense played well. They had so many opportunities to put this one away, unfortunately came up short but it was a physical nail biter battle till the end after double overtime.”

Two second-half goals broke open a close game as Cheltenham snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 Freedom Division win over Upper Moreland.
Jackson Scott, Billy Fishman and Alan Fazio scored goals for the Panthers.
Scoring Summary:
First Half –
Jackson Scott (C)
Second Half –
Billy Fishman (C)
Alan Fazio (C)
Cheltenham coach Danny Shields:
“The game began with both teams cautiously probing each other’s defenses. For a solid 10 to 15 minutes, Cheltenham gained the upper hand, resulting in a key breakthrough. A ball played into the Upper Moreland penalty area was followed up by Jackson Scott, who guided it into the net at the back post with about 15 minutes left in the first half.
“Both midfields were evenly matched throughout the first 40 minutes. Cheltenham’s defense stayed composed and efficient, cleaning up any threats and leaving goalkeeper Wolf Brown with a relatively comfortable first half.
“Cheltenham went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. In the early stages of the second half, Upper Moreland came out pressing and created several chances. Wolf Brown was called into action, making a couple of impressive saves to preserve the lead.
“After the first 15 minutes of the second half, Cheltenham began to dominate all areas of the pitch. Their second goal came from a lofted ball to the back post, where Billy Fishman doubled the lead with a tidy finish.
“Shortly afterward, Ian Justice was forced to come off, temporarily shifting Cheltenham’s rhythm. However, upon his return, the team quickly regained their composure and reasserted control. Additional substitutions helped revive Cheltenham’s energy and attacking intensity.”
–Props: “Jayce Howard made an immediate impact after being introduced up front. He repeatedly broke through Upper Moreland’s defense thanks to smart through balls from Billy Fishman and the midfield unit. One of his shots narrowly missed the post in what was nearly a third goal.
“Emile Chaonine provided several mesmerizing runs from midfield, gliding past defenders and creating real danger. On one occasion, he beat multiple players and was inches wide of the post with only the goalkeeper to beat.
“Cheltenham’s third goal came in spectacular fashion. Alan “Roberto Carlos” Fazio took the ball from deep in his own half, drove down the left wing, and from roughly 40 yards out unleashed a rocket that soared into the top corner, just under the crossbar. It was a stunning solo effort and the highlight of the match.
“Cheltenham continued to threaten, delivering three or four dangerous crosses into the box, though they couldn’t quite convert them.
“Cheltenham’s midfielders—Jayden, Jackson, Aldin, and Ruben—were influential throughout, while Nate Leary helped the defense with a strong second-half performance.
“Substitutes Oliver Burnside, Harry Rubin-Reynolds, and Judah Britton also made valuable contributions to the team’s success.
“Ahmed Sekou Toure put in a hard-working shift in the first half before being subbed off after taking an elbow to the neck.”
