Souderton 2, Archbishop Carroll 0
Owen Alderfer scored two goals and Souderton wrapped up a busy week with a solid 2-0 win over Archbishop Carroll in a non-league game.
Scoring:
Owen Alderfer (S) from Cole Manners
Owen Alderfer (S) from Zyad Boudi
Souderton coach Frank Demas:
–The game: “Souderton boys played a great team game today. In their third game of the week, they showed up and got the job done. We created countless chances all game but just couldn’t seem to have that final product. Until Cole Manners, Owen Alderfer and Zyad Bouidi decided it was time to just take the game in their hands and get it done.
“Cole was unmatched on the field the entire second half. The breakthrough came when Cole and Owen took exactly what we worked on the day before In training and used it on the field. Kyle Nyamuomba played a great switching ball to Cole, who then played a ball across goal for Owen to finish off. A nice team goal.
“The second goal was scored again by Owen, as he made a good run from midfield and Zyad played a ball through for Owen to dribble past the goalie and finish. Zyad and Owen have been very impressive to start the year in the middle defensively, So it was great to see them finally link up offensively.
“All and all it was a good team effort. We have talked a lot about playing through adversity, such as struggling to finish off opportunities. And today the boys really stuck with it and showed good mentality to continue driving for that goal. It’s really nice to see some of these younger guys step up and take on major roles for the team.
–Props: “Trevor Alderfer with another clean sheet… Additional shoutouts to our back line who gave up very little all week – Hoover, Sawicki, Kolesar, Lane, Nyamuomba.”
–Credit to Carroll: Archbishop Carroll played a really hard game and showed great sportsmanship. It was a tough game with Souderton having a lot of the possession, but Carroll was very organized defensively. We look forward to more good games with them in the future and wish them the best of luck in the remainder of their season.”
Next up: Souderton (3-2-1) is back in league action Tuesday at North Penn.

Harry S. Truman 9, MaST Charter 0
Aloysious Toe scored two first-half goals as Truman started strong and picked up a solid 9-0 non-league win over MaST Charter to wrap up a tough week.
Truman coach Rob Brown:
“Building on tactical adjustments and a revamped formation first introduced against Council Rock South, the team delivered a composed, decisive performance to claim a solid win. Despite entering the match short-handed, the squad maintained discipline and executed the game plan effectively. A primary focus in recent practices has been possession management; after struggling with quick turnovers in previous matches, the players successfully sustained possession, dictated the tempo, and built consistent attacks from the back.
–The offense: “The offensive effort featured strong contributions across the roster. Aloysious led the scoring with two goals, supported by single tallies from Keith Crowder, Chris Rodriguez, Oscar Victoria, Justin Torres, and Kevin Zambrano. The decisive lead allowed valuable varsity minutes for nearly the entire junior varsity roster, highlighted by Mason Malaczewski, who shifted from a first-half defensive role to score two second-half goals up top.
“Facing an opponent playing a man down following a red card, strategic line adjustments were made in the second half to respect the scoreline while giving emerging players the opportunity to showcase their mid-season development. Shifting team culture and building consistent winning habits is an ongoing process, but the players tuned out external noise and executed with solid composure.
“Having taught at MaST for five years and coached there last season, I wish their program the best moving forward, along with a quick recovery for their player injured during match play.”
Next up: Truman (2-4) hosts Neshaminy in a Patriot Division game Tuesday.

It was the Colonials third tie game of the week.
“We tied after having nearly most of the possession throughout the game, especially in the second half,” said Colonials coach Toni Washington. “So many opportunities to score yet unsuccessful. Their keeper made great saves to hold the tie while being down a man the last 10 minutes or so.
“Our defense once again did their job and offense came up short. Hoping to find the back of the net next week as we continue to work on confidence and composure within and outside the opponent’s 18.”
