SOL Non-League Crossovers
North Penn 1, New Hope-Solebury 0
A first-half goal from Karam Alkoudsi held up and North Penn held off a pesky visiting New Hope-Solebury squad for a 1-0 non-league win on Wednesday.
Scoring:
First Half –
Karam Alkoudsi (NP)
North Penn coach Maurice Haye:
“North Penn got on the scoreboard in the first half when Karam Alkoudsi converted a corner kick opportunity.
The ball bounced around in the six-yard box before Karam got a foot on it and knocked it into the net to give the Knights the lead.
“New Hope-Solebury applied pressure throughout the match, particularly in the second half, but North Penn’s defense once again delivered a standout performance to preserve the lead and secure the shutout.”
–Props: “Late in the second half, North Penn goalkeeper Josh Michalski came up with a huge save on a shot headed toward the upper portion of the net, keeping the ball out and protecting the Knights’ 1-0 advantage.
“North Penn also received strong performances in the midfield from Logan Bocklet, Matt Bakir, and Logan Sanith, who helped control possession and manage the tempo throughout the game.”
Next up: North Penn (4-5-2) next hosts Henderson on Saturday. New Hope (3-4-2) plays at Pennsbury on Tuesday.
New Hope 0 0 – 0
North Penn 1 0 – 1

Council Rock North 1, Abington 0
On the road in a tough place to play against a quality opponent, CR North – propelled by a Matt Brozyna goal and a stingy defense – picked up its biggest win of the season in knocking off previously unbeaten Abington by a 1-0 final score under the lights on Wednesday.
“I said to the boys this week, ‘Dude, this is a tough week. This is probably going to be our most challenging week of the season, but if you go out there and you get some wins, that’s a lot of points, so go get me some points, boys,’ and they did,” said CR North assistant coach Brian Hoffman.
The win was the fourth straight for the Indians.
Scoring:
First Half –
Matt Brozyna (CRN) from Jason Foulke, 25th minute
CR North assistant coach Brian Hoffman:
–The game: “You’ve got the defending state champs and a team in us that I think is building on something that can make a good run, and the intensity was there from the top. Both teams played really excellent soccer, even though the field itself did not really predicate that being the case, playing on their grass, which was really high. All the rain we got as of late has made it super marshy. It forced the game to be in the air quite a bit, but both teams fought hard for head balls and second chances. Both teams had plenty of opportunities to be able to go ahead and score.
“We just were able to finish on one of our opportunities, and luckily, our defense held fast for the opportunities they had.”
–Props: “Will Loudon probably played the best game of his life in our defensive center mid position. David Morais similarly, and our two center backs – Chase Murphy and Andrew French – just dominated and did not allow them to get comfortable at any point.”
Next up: CR North (6-1-3) has another tough game Saturday night at Archbishop Wood. Abington (7-1-3) hosts Central Bucks South on Tuesday.
CR North 1 0 – 1
Abington 0 0 – 0
Central Bucks South 2, Springfield Twp. 1
Two late goals were the difference, as CB South battled back to knock off a good Springfield squad in a crossover matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Springfield took the lead off a long throw-in play with 15 minutes remaining, but CB South battled back for two goals in the final minutes to walk away with the win.
Jackson Tait and Tyler Jaskelewicz scored the goals for the Titans.
Scoring:
Second Half –
Springfield goal
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Tyler Jaskelewicz
Tyler Jaskelewicz (CBS), unassisted
CB South coach Ed Brnardic:
“We knew we were going to be in for a competitive match, but after a really fun practice the night before, the energy around the team was extremely positive and we felt ready for the challenge.
“Springfield may be a much smaller school than us, but it’s incredible how consistently they produce talented players and punch above their weight. They also play a really attractive brand of football, so we knew we would have our hands full.
“I thought the first half was excellent. They had more of the possession, as we expected, but we were happy with the quality of the chances we created when we had the ball.
“Unfortunately, the second half changed when one of their players suffered a knee injury. My heart broke for him, and I said a little prayer that it isn’t serious. We’ve dealt with far too many injuries ourselves this season, so we certainly understand how difficult those moments can be.
“The game became a little chippy afterward, the fouls piled up, and so did the emotion. That’s when high school games can become unpredictable, and this one certainly did, with a flurry of goals late.
“I was really proud of our guys for never stopping believing. They stayed in the fight until the end and found a way to pull out the victory.”
– Props: “(Tyler Jaskelewicz) was the best player on the field for us today. Springfield has two very dangerous attackers in Eden Ha and Adam DiBattista, and containing them was a major focus for us. I’ve been extremely impressed with both players, and I honestly wasn’t sure we would be able to slow them down.
“TJ volunteered to take on that challenge, and he was fantastic. When Springfield grabbed a late 1-0 lead, TJ pushed into the attack and made a great run to set up Jackson Tait for the tying goal. Minutes later, he reacted first to a loose ball in the box and buried the game-winner.
“TJ does everything for this team. I wish I could take a pint of his blood and infuse it into every future player at CB South so that his passion for the game can live on in our program.”
Next up: CB South (6-2-4) is off until Tuesday when it plays at Abington. Springfield (8-2) looks to snap a two-game losing streak Friday at Great Valley.
Springfield 0 1 – 1
CB South 0 2 – 2
William Tennent 3, Central Bucks West 1
A big first half was a big boost for William Tennent which then held off CB West in the second half for the 3-1 non-league crossover with on Wednesday.
Charlie Villarraroel scored twice for the Panthers, who are 5-1 in their last six games.
Scoring:
First Half –
Christian Kashishian (WT)
Charlie Villarraroel (WT)
Charlie Villarraroel (WT)
Second Half –
CB West goal
William Tennent coach Nick D’Andrea:
“We scored three goals in the first half. Christian Kashishian picked up a loose ball in the box to score the first. Then Charlie Villarroel scored two goals six minutes apart.
“CB West came out and dominated the second half. They scored on a bicycle kick which was beautiful. Their No. 10 (Eddie Rafalowski) is one of the best players in the area and SOL and created problems for us all game. They have size and strength up top, and it took big saves from our keeper Charlie Murtha to preserve the 3-1 win.”
Next up: Tennent (7-3) hosts MaST Charter in a non-league on Saturday. CB West (2-6-3) looks to bounce back at home Friday night against Hatboro-Horsham.
CB West 0 1 – 1
Tennent 3 0 – 3
Wissahickon 5, Council Rock South 1
Freshman River Elliot scored three goals in a seven-minute stretch in the first half, as Wissahickon blew Wednesday’s non-league crossover game against Council Rock South wide open early in what would be an impressive 5-1 win.

River Elliot (W), 26th minute
River Elliot (W), 31st minute
Second Half –
Aidan Siemion (W), 48th minute
Shane McGovern (CRS), 58th minute
Wissahickon coach Stuart Malcolm:
“A good win against a solid program. A good start with a goal early from Brayden Vorchheimer. A quick hat-trick from freshman River Elliot in the middle of the half turned the game in our favor. Aidan Siemion finished well early in the second half.
“CR South had suffered some major injuries prior to the game but worked hard throughout the game and got a deserved goal midway through the half.”
Next up: Wissahickon (8-2-2) has a non-league game at Methacton on Friday. CR South (4-6-1) hosts Conwell-Egan on Friday.
CR South 0 1 – 1

Neshaminy 5, Upper Dublin 1
Four different players scored goals as Neshaminy controlled Upper Dublin from start to finish and picked up the 5-1 non-league win on Wednesday.
David Lopez and Zach Hargraves each had one goal and one assist for Neshaminy.
Scoring:
First Half –
Monty Jawawdeh (N), 12th minute
David Lopez (N). 20th minute
Second Half –
Jacob Peng (UD), 48th minute
Own Goal, 58th minute
Zach Hargraves (N) from David Lopez, 65th minute
Jake Fallon (N) from Zach Hargraves, 69th minute
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
–The game: “I thought we pressured them really well. They like to play out of the back, and we bottled them up pretty well, created a lot of turnovers. We got some free kicks, and the first goal was kind of a scrum, and we finally got on the end of a scrum, and Monty (Jawawdeh) knocked it past their keeper from about six yards out.
“Our second goal was beautiful. David Lopez got the ball on the left side, and he beat somebody, cut in and just hit a rocket to the far right upper 90 and went in for the second goal. It was an awesome goal.
“I thought overall our defense from forward to defender did a nice job. We had one breakdown. To their credit, they kept plugging away. Their style of play – their center back made a run past our forward, and he was able to get it to their forward. He kind of took it the rest of the way and scored a nice goal, but other than that, they didn’t really generate many opportunities because we kept them bottled up all day, which is really nice to see.
“So, hopefully, with the goal scoring, we’re starting to get good results for our hard work. Hopefully, we start building some confidence, hopefully, we’re peaking at the right time, which would be really nice to see.”
–Props: ” We had two standouts on defense who don’t get a lot of credit. I thought Jake Fallon again was extremely solid in the back.
“Jayson Morris, one of our center defensive midfielders – his last three games have been outstanding. He’s winning a lot of balls, and he’s putting people in motion. So, credit to him. Hopefully, he can keep that up and play at that level for the rest of the year because it will certainly be a big help to us.”
Next up: Neshaminy (5-4-4) is off until Tuesday when it hosts Lower Moreland. Upper Dublin (4-7) hosts CB East on Tuesday.
Neshaminy 5

Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:

PW coach Toni Washington:
“Not the best showing for our guys. We just have to flush this one and move on with positivity to get back to playing with confidence.”
Next up: Bensalem (7-2-2) plays again Thursday against Quakertown at home. Plymouth Whitemarsh (3-4-3) hosts Avon Grove Friday.
PW 0 1 – 1
Bensalem 1 5 – 6
Central Bucks East 0, Lower Moreland 0
Neither team could break through in this one, and after 80 minutes, CB East and Lower Moreland settled for a scoreless tie in a crossover on Wednesday afternoon.
CB East coach Josh Isaacsohn:
–The game: “Basically, it was a pretty hard-fought match. I really thought Lower Moreland had a well-coached, organized, very good squad. They’re big kids, and they handle the ball very well. I would say that they had a favorable first half over us. They had a couple chances more than we did. Neither team had a ton, but they definitely were a little bit better to start.
“We really challenged our guys in the second half. We came back and we had an opportunity with less than a minute left right on the goal line that unfortunately we couldn’t put away.”
–Props: “Our strength today was really our defense, and I definitely want to give a shout out to some players. I’ll start with our goalkeeping. Connor St. George played the first half and Cody Thurston stepped up after Connor was a bit injured, and he played the second half. Both guys were just warriors today. Cody played absolutely phenomenal.
“And the guys in front of them – David Steen, Trevor Matlack, Austin Stone, Viyan Shah and Dustin Weber – were just phenomenal today. They have been working really, really hard and maybe not getting the offensive production we would like. These guys have just been holding it down, and I want to be sure they get recognized because they’ve just been absolutely incredible for us.”
Next up: CB East (3-3-4) is off until a road game at Upper Dublin Tuesday. Lower Moreland (3-4-4) plays at Neshaminy Tuesday.
CB East 0 0 – 0
LM 0 0 – 0

“Daniel Darnesto scored from distance off a 45-yd restart, Kevin Aguirre scored on an endline assist from Danny Yakusevich, and Kaiden Wood added an unassisted goal.
“The coaching staff is incredibly proud of the boys’ effort and character. They continue to build on and maintain our philosophy of being better than yesterday.”

Scoring:
First Half –
AJ Pisoni (S) from Bryden Muller
AJ Pisoni (S) from Zyad Bouidi
Second Half –
Marlon Galvon (S) from Zyad Bouidi
Cole Manners (S), unassisted
Souderton coach Frank Demas:
“Souderton did what they needed to do today. We thankfully started the game really well and scored early. Which then let us move some guys around and rest others.
“Pisoni had a great start to the game, scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. He was really good again today.
“We did probably get a little complacent after that quick start and didn’t finish the first half very strongly. So that’s something our players can learn from. And also, credit to Cheltenham, they worked very hard all game.
“Second half we stepped it back up and created a lot of good chances. Marlon had a great header in the second half. Manners finished off a bouncing ball in the box off of Zyad corner.”
