Check out the recaps for SOL boys/girls basketball teams in action Monday.

BOYS
Non-league
NESHAMINY 58, NORRISTOWN 56
Nate Townsend scored 25 points and Sean Curley added 19, and both were dangerous from beyond the arc, combining for seven 3-pointers. While the duo shared the offensive spotlight, it was senior Joey Zack who came up with the defensive play of the night in the game’s closing seconds.
“Norristown had the ball at the end, and our big kid, Joey Zack, had a big block on their big man, but it went out of bounds,” Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle said. “With about three seconds left, they had the ball out of bounds under their own basket, but we were able to play really solid defense, and they didn’t have a good look.
“It was a good road win. It was a pretty much back and forth game the whole time. It was definitely a good game.”
Townsend had the hot hand out of the gate, scoring 10 points in the first quarter and propelling the Redskins to a 14-12 lead. In the second quarter, Curley buried three 3-pointers and scored 11 points, and the Redskins took a 32-28 lead into halftime.
The Eagles didn’t go away, but the Redskins stood tall. Townsend’s 13 points led Neshaminy in the second half.
“Nate and Sean are our go-to guys, and they played really well for us,” Tingle said. “Joey Zack had a big rebounding game – he had another 10 rebounds and a couple key blocks.
“We had a couple guys on our bench that were out sick that would normally get minutes, so we didn’t go very deep in our bench. Our four captains – Townsend, Curley, Joey (Zack) and Emeer Coombs – lead the other way, and our other guys are filling in and doing good stuff for us. Ashton Lovelace and Guy Horton are the other guys that really stepped up.”
In addition to scoring 25 points with three 3-pointers, Townsend also had eight rebounds. Curley, who had four 3s in his 19 points, also had four assists and four rebounds. Zack finished with five points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, and Coombs had five points, four assists and four rebounds.
Neshaminy (3-1, 1-0 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Tuesday.

GIRLS
Non-league
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 50, ST. HUBERT’S 28
Jaden Wan and Delaney McCaffery both had big games offensively, and the Indians, who led 8-4 after one quarter, blew Monday’s non-league contest open with an 18-5 second quarter burst to go into halftime with a 26-9 lead.
“I feel like I have been saying this every game, but our staff is just so incredibly proud of the energy and effort our players are putting forth,” Rock North coach Jack Kelly said. “Tonight, it was on display again. I didn’t think our level of execution was to the standard we want, but our effort and resilience pushed us to a win.
“The run at the end of the half was really huge for us – St. Hubert’s made it tough for us to score in the half court throughout the game. However, I thought Kiera Katz really got us going during that run. She had two key assists in that span, and she had a great take for a layup. On top of that, Jaden (Wan) and Lizzie (Lustig) were relentless on the boards, and Delaney (McCaffery) had two big steals and hit a 3 at the buzzer.”
In the opening half, McCaffery had seven points while Lustig had six to lead the Indians. St. Hubert’s cut into that lead in the third quarter, but the Indians closed out the game with a 20-point fourth quarter to win going away.
“In the second half, I was proud of us for withstanding their run – a credit to St. Hubert’s, they showed a lot of fight,” Kelly said. “It was a very physical game, but we handled their pressure and showed resilience on the road in the fourth quarter. They unfortunately had their starting guard, Mackenzie McLaughlin, go down with a bad shoulder injury in the first half.
“Injuries are the hardest part of the game, and we hope that she will be okay. Even without her, St. Hubert’s kept battling. I thought we were able to settle down in the fourth, make some better decisions and put them away. We are a work in progress right now, but there have been a lot of positives for us to build on.”
Wan led the Indians with 15 points, McCaffery had 14 and Ruth O’Keefe contributed seven points. Lustig and Josie Boyle each had six points.
Council Rock North (3-1) will host Bensalem on Tuesday.
