ABINGTON 53, CHELTENHAM 49
The Ghosts defeated their neighboring rivals in Saturday’s Coaches vs. Cancer contest at Cheltenham.
Amir Hinton led the Ghosts with 21 points – 15 in a first half that saw the Ghosts turn a 13-11 lead after one quarter into a 28-18 halftime lead. The Panthers outscored the Ghosts 13-7 in the third quarter to make it a 35-31 game heading into the final quarter, but the Ghosts (4-0) held on for the win.
Also for the Ghosts, Matt Penecale scored 11 points – all in the second half.
Khalil White scored 18 points to lead the Panthers (1-4) while Justin Sutton had 10 points and nine rebounds.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 48, HAZLETON 37
The Indians recuperated from a slow start to earn the come-from-behind win. The Indians managed just three points in the first quarter – all by Will Desautelle – and trailed 6-3. They still found themselves on the short end of a 21-15 halftime score.
In the third quarter, the Indians outscored their visitors 10-9 and then took control in the fourth quarter with a 23-10 scoring burst.
Matt Margolis did most of the damage, scoring 13 of his team-high 15 points in the frame, which included a 9-for-10 effort from the foul line. All told, the Indians connected on 17-of-22 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter. They were 23-of-35 from the foul line in the game.
Riley Thompson also finished the game in double figures with 10 points while Tyler Nowmos added eight, which included a 5-of-6 effort from the foul line.
With the win, the Indians upped their record to 3-0.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 45, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 29
The Bucks limited the Crusaders to just five points in each of the first three quarters on their way to the decisive non-league win on Saturday. The Bucks took a 20-10 lead into halftime and never looked back.
Bill Power led a balanced scoring attack with eight points, and Jim McCusker added seven. Owen Cooney and Nico Munari both had six points on a night that saw nine West players get into the scoring column.
The Bucks upped their early season record to 4-0.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 79, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 37
The Colonials owned Saturday’s non-league game at Perk Valley from the opening tap, outscoring the Vikings 17-7 in the first quarter and opening up a 42-20 lead by halftime. Xzavier Malone scored nine of his team-high 16 points in the first half.
Andre Mitchell added 15 points – nine in a second half that saw the Colonials outscore their hosts 37-17. Grady Minick added 11 points, which included three treys, and Devon Monteiro-Gray had 10 points. Jimmy Murray finished with nine.
The Colonials improved to 4-0.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 61, NEW FOUNDATIONS 50
The Patriots rallied from a 14-12 deficit at the end of one quarter to outscore their hosts 14-9 in the second quarter to go on top 26-23 by halftime. They took a three-point lead into the final quarter when they outscored New Foundations 18-10.
Tommy Strasburger had another big game for the Patriots, finishing with 24 points and seven rebounds. Justin O’Neil also had a big game, coming close to a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Matt Pattyson added 10 points, and Chris Reilly had eight for the Patriots, who are 4-1 on the season.

Girls
PERKIOMEN VALLEY 33, SOUDERTON 26
The Indians hung tough but never could get over the hump. They trailed 10-8 at the end of one quarter and 19-15 at the intermission. It was a three-point game (25-22) heading into a fourth quarter that saw the Indians score just four points.
Olivia Kaunert and Marissa Sandone led the Indians (2-3) with seven points each. Krista Schneider had six points.

BETHLEHEM CATHOLIC 67, ABINGTON 50
The Ghosts battled Becahi to a 12-12 tie at the end of one quarter but found themselves starting at a 36-27 deficit at the intermission. It was a 48-37 game after three quarter, and Becahi added to its lead in the fourth quarter.
Sammy Lochner led the Ghosts (3-2) with 12 points while Deja Rawls had nine points and seven assists.
Becahi’s Kalista Walters was tough to contain, finishing with 25 points, which included an 18-for-20 effort at the foul line.
The Ghosts are 3-2.
