LOWER MORELAND 42, MaST CHARTER 31
The Lions christened their brand new gymnasium with a win, and as new beginnings go, it was a good one.
Inspired by their new surroundings, the Lions roared out of the gate to a 13-2 lead after one quarter. MaST battled back, but the Lions prevailed.

Players of the game: Andrew Zoubroulis & Shane Martens led a balanced LM attack with 10 points each.
Lower Moreland coach Dicky Rhoads: “This was the first game in our new gym. The team played together for four quarters, playing great defense, and the points were spread out evenly.

SOL-PAC Challenge
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 51, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 42
The Bucks rebounded from a loss in Saturday’s opener to defeat Perk Valley in the second of two SOL-PAC Challenge games – Monday’s games at Central Bucks South.
After a scoring just 16 points in the first half, the Bucks scored 17 in the third quarter and 35 total in the second half.
Key stretch: The Bucks’ strong second half.
Players of the game: Dan Pellegrini (16 points), Max Millilo (14 points)
Central Bucks West coach Adam Sherman on the game: “There were a couple of lead changes back and forth. We had a lead going into the fourth quarter, and then in the fourth quarter, we were able to extend it a little bit.
“We had better composure than we did on Saturday. I thought we were a little too emotional and too wound up the first night. We’re a young, inexperienced team with literally only one kid that played varsity last year. I have two kids starting that actually were injured all last year and didn’t play, so it’s a lot.
“I thought we defended well, I thought we executed well, and I thought we had some nice contributions from different guys. We were just doing a good job of communicating. We were really not giving them any easy buckets
“We’re excited to get the win. At this time of the year, you’re just trying to get better and get some momentum.”
–Props: “Max Millilo played well – he shot the ball well and orchestrated our offense well. Roman Kulesa didn’t score as much as he did the first night, but he was all over the court. Gavin Reichner came in and had some big buckets in the fourth for us. Dan Pellegrini also was a very strong player for us tonight.”
Up next: Central Bucks West (1-1) will travel to Council Rock North for a non-league game Wednesday.

Jeff Dailey Tournament
NORTH PENN 65, FREEDOM 62
The Knights made their trip to Notre Dame Green Pond for the Jeff Dailey Tournament a memorable one, defeating Freedom on Sunday to capture the tournament title. For Freedom, the game came on the heels of a 101-100 triple overtime win over Notre Dame Green Pond in Saturday’s opener.
The Knights capitalized on a potential letdown for Freedom, opening up a 15-point halftime lead. Freedom came to life in the third quarter, but the Knights fought off their comeback bid.
Players of the Game: Ahmaar Godhani (16 points), Lee Hammond (13 points), Wyatt Martin (11 points), Nolan Foust (10 points).
North Penn coach Cordell Lord on the game: “It was definitely a solid win, a little bit more of a nail biter than we expected, but they did a good job. Because they were in that triple overtime game, they definitely came out slow, and we did a good job of really getting off to a quick start, kind of blowing the lead open in the second quarter.
“We knew that they were going to have a fire lit under them at halftime. Their coach is very experienced and had them ready to go in the second half. They just needed one shot to go in to get on a roll. In that third quarter, they definitely got hot – they hit three or four 3s with two of them being in a row to come out and start the second half. They got a lot of life and energy off of that.
“The rest of the third quarter we tried to maintain and bounce back. In the fourth quarter, we did a really good job of making timely shots and getting stops when we really needed them.”
–Props: “Ahmaar Godhani and Lee Hammond did a fantastic job. Ahmaar hit some big-time shots in the fourth quarter, and Lee did a great job just causing a lot of pressure, getting into the lane. They also did a great job on defense as well, containing guys later on in the game when they were hot.
“We had two other people we thought were fantastic. Nolan Foust, who is in the starting lineup, knocked down three big 3s and did a great job of forcing their guard to take a lot of tough shots, especially later on in the second half. He caused a lot of deflections and disrupted their offense all around. Wyatt Martin came off the bench and provided a really, really big spark. He did well scoring, did a great job rebounding. He’s someone who we consider a leader on this team and communicates really well. He’s coming back over from football, so he’s still getting his legs under him, but he was definitely a big spark to have come off the bench.”
Up next: North Penn (2-0) will travel to Spring-Ford for a non-league game Tuesday (6:45 pm).
North Penn (65) – Ahmaar Godhania 5 3-3 16; Lee Hammond 5 3-4 13; Nolan Foust 3 1-2 10; Aiden Atkinson 2 4-4 9; Wyatt Martin 4 0-1 11; Gabe Altemus 2 0-0 4; Shane Ward 1 0-0 2; David Onyeanusi 1 0-0 2; TOTALS 23 11-13 65.
3-point goals: NP – Nolan Foust 3, Wyatt Martin 3, Aiden Atkinson, W Martin.
