UPPER DUBLIN 12, PENNRIDGE 11
For the second time in as many games in this young season, the Flying Cardinals found themselves in a contest that came down to the wire.
“It was once again a back-and-forth game,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “We were able to finally build a three-goal lead, and Pennridge came back and tied it up with 1:23 left in the game.
“Allie Gay came up with a huge draw control to gain us possession, working with Anna DiMartile and Paige Dinkel to get us the ball. We called a timeout to draw up a play, which got broken up by Pennridge’s defense. With 21 seconds, Paige Dinkel flicked in a scrappy goal to put us ahead by one. We were able to get possession and run out the clock on the next draw.”
Dinkel finished with a hat trick. Aditi Foster led UD’s attack with five goals and two assists. Anna DiMartile had one goal, two assists, five draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Julie Zlotnikoff had a pair of goals, and Cami Rosenthal had one goal. Allie Gay and Ella Lyon each had one assist.
“The defense played a solid game again, led by Erin Eby, Ava Costanzo, Abby O’Meara and Allie Gay,” Cross said. “The midfield is young this year, and they were steady in transition and getting involved on both ends of the field.
“Dana Fishman had a steady game in goal and improves each time out on the field.”
Fishman was credited with seven saves in the win.
Upper Dublin (2-0) will host Harriton in a non-league game on Friday, and Pennridge (1-1) will host Quakertown on Friday.

WISSAHICKON 12, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 10
Freshman Alexa McCabe stole the spotlight with a seven-goal effort that propelled the Trojans to the hard fought non-league win.
“Huge shoutout to Alexa ‘Mick’ McCabe who had seven goals and truly kept us in the game,” Wissahickon coach Nicole Fisher said. “It was so fun to watch. She had a quick four right in a row coming off great connecting feeds. I’m excited to see her continue to grow.”
The Trojans led 7-3 at halftime, opened up a 12-5 lead in the second half and then withstood a tenacious Titan comeback attempt.
“We started a little flat, however, in the second half we had a great run,” Fisher said. “CB South did a great job marking some of our key players, but (Alexis) Hobson) and (Emma) Baker did a great job finding other ways to help.
“CB South had a great momentum run in the second half, and I think we did a good job staying composed and worked till the last whistle.”
For the Titans, Tegan Mullen, Kate Victor and Grace Gannon each had three goals. Victor also chipped in an assist. Maddy Flynn had one goal and one assist while Brooke Cenci had one assist.
South goalie Gabby Mayo was credited with 11 saves.
“It was an evenly matched game at the start then Wissahickon pulled away at the end of the first half and start of the second half,” South coach Janique Craig said. “The score was 12-5, and then after a timeout, CB South had tremendous heart and came back to score five straight goals in the second half.
“I could not be more proud of my team and their efforts. We just need to play a full game and we are glad this happened at the start of the season.”
In addition to McCabe, Emma Greenberg and Emma Baker both had two goals while Alexis Hobson had one.
Camille Hubbs had seven saves in goal for the Trojans.
“It honestly wasn’t our prettiest win, but we worked together, made adjustments and we are learning,” Fisher said.
