The Patriots and Lions battled to a 1-1 tie at the end of one quarter, and East trailed by just one at halftime, 3-2. The Patriots outscored their hosts 4-2 in the third quarter and took a 6-5 lead into the final quarter. The Lions closed it out with a 3-1 quarter to earn the win.
Jimmy Knepp’s hat trick led the Patriots while Ryan Carroll and Ryan Gray both contributed a goal and an assist. Gray also was credited with two ground balls. Adding one goal each were Matt Melendez and Joey Beahan. Beahan also had five caused turnovers and two ground balls. Ryan Stout contributed an assist and led the Patriots with seven caused turnovers.
Nils Updale won seven face-offs and also had a caused turnover. Evan Bulotta had a team-high four ground balls as well as one caused turnover. Connor Martin scooped up three ground balls. Drew Bethke, Ryan Eife and Jake Kueny all had one ground ball and one caused turnover. Josh Brown also had one caused turnover.
Liam Rosenthal recorded seven saves in goal for the Patriots.
Central Bucks East (4-6, 1-2 SOL) will travel to Council Rock North on Tuesday.

PENNCREST 7, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 6
The Bucks outscored the visiting Lions 3-1 in the opening quarter but then scored just three goals the rest of the way. Penncrest eked out the one-goal win to hand the Bucks their first loss of the season after eight straight wins.
Erik Ojert’s hat trick led the Bucks. Jeff Woosnam added two goals, and Garrett Hitchens had one. Hitchens once again was dominant at the face-off X, winning 11-of-16 face-offs.
Central Bucks West (8-1, 3-0 SOL) will host Pennridge on Tuesday.

The Patriots trailed by two at halftime but turned things around in the second half, outscoring the visiting Rams 8-3 to earn the conference win.
“We got off to a very slow start,” coach Jordan Sanocki said. “At the half, we knew we had to come up with a plan to change the course of the second half.
“Our focus was one step at a time – starting with the draw control. Brigitte (Bishop) came up huge on the draw control, and from there, we were able to work the ball on offense until a clean drive to cage presented itself. We started capitalizing on possessions and controlling the pace of the game. Then it was just one goal at a time until we were able to tie the game and then take the lead.”
Bishop finished the game with nine draw controls to go along with two goals and four ground balls. Riley Forman had a team-high six goals. She also had two draw controls. Quinn Ferry had a hand in eight goals – assisting on seven and scoring one. She also had four draw controls.
“Quinn was a huge asset on attack today,” Sanocki said.
Courtney Mackenzie added a pair of goals. Kiki Fink and Riley Surovec both had one goal. Morgan Eater scooped up a team-high six ground balls.
Fiona Henderson also came up big in goal.
“Fiona had eight amazing saves,” Sanocki said.
Central Bucks East (7-4, 3-1 SOL) will travel to Abington on Tuesday, and Pennridge (3-8, 1-3) will be on the road at Neshaminy on Wednesday.

UPPER MORELAND 16, RIDLEY 15 (OT)
Overtime has got to be feeling like old hat to the Golden Bears. Twenty-four hours after edging Plymouth Whitemarsh in OT, the Golden Bears used a goal by Moira Olexa (Megan O’Donnell assist) to earn the non-league win in the opening moments of overtime.
“Luckily, overtime was short,” coach Kim Frantz said. “Megan O’Donnell came up with the draw to get us down the field on offense.
“The final play of the game was a great transition, and Moira Olexa had great composure to take her time and place the ball in the net on a pass from Megan O’Donnell.”
Olexa finished the game with four goals and also had seven draw controls. Emma Meakim had a big day for the Golden Bears. In addition to three draw controls, Meakim had a hand in nine goals, scoring four and assisting on five others. O’Donnell added a hat trick, two assists and two draw controls. Cassidy Hirsch had two goals, two assists and three draw controls. Alexis Lamb added one goal and one draw control.
Goalie Sarah Pickard recorded 10 saves in a winning effort.
Frantz credited the play of her defense in the win.
“Our defense – with the leadership of AbbyEllen Wood and Kayla Meakim – got some key stops that made a huge difference in the game, including a key stop at the end of regulation to help us get the ball and have the final shot of the game and got the ball out of the defensive end,” Frantz said. “The team went into this week with the goal to ‘Sweep the Week.’ And right after the game that was what they all said as they were excited to accomplish that goal to finish the week with three wins.”
The Golden Bears got off to a fast start, reeling off five unanswered goals to go on top 5-1 after Ridley scored the first goal of the game. They took a 10-7 lead into halftime.
Down but not out, the visiting Green Raiders outscored the Golden Bears 8-5 in the second half.
“The end of the second half was exciting, to say the least,” Frantz said. “Sarah Pickard had a key save with 25 seconds left.
“We were able to transition the ball quickly down the field with a great open shot which hit the pipe, and then time was out to send the game into overtime. This was a hard fought game by all players on both teams. It was back and forth most of the game.
“Two overtime games in a row was tough – we were definitely tired, but they were mentally tough and played with heart to pull it out today.”
Upper Moreland (7-2, 3-0 SOL) will travel to Cheltenham on Monday.
