Central Bucks West was a winner in both boys and girls lacrosse on Friday. Check the recaps.
Boys
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 14, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3
Nine players contributed goals for the Bucks, who trailed 1-0 after one period but outscored their hosts 8-1 in the second period to seize control of the SOL National Conference battle.
Erik Ojert had a hand in five goals, scoring a pair and assisting on three others. Christian Kunkel, Jess Woosnam, Terrence Devlin and Jake Lang each also scored two goals. Adding single goals were Joey Bottino, Conor Albrecht, David Ross and Garrett Hitchens. Jake Ojert handed out three assists while Ross and Ricky Albert both had one assist.
For the Golden Hawks, Philip Mignacca had a pair of goals. Kyle Gartenmayer added one goal while Chase Patterson had an assist.
West senior Garrett Hitchens won 13-of-15 face-offs.
Goalie Max Dunar turned away 13 shots in a winning effort for the Bucks. TJ Kelly had one save in relief of Dunar.
Central Bucks West (10-1, 5-0 SOL) – the top seed in the latest District 1 3A rankings – will face Downingtown West in a non-league contest Saturday as part of the Katie Samson Festival at Radnor. Council Rock South (7-5, 3-2), the 20th seed in the power rankings, will host Abington on Monday.

It was another day and another milestone for Casey Reichwein. The senior standout scored the 100th goal of a stellar career, and making her accomplishment even more impressive is the fact that Reichwein was a defender last year. Reichwein posted another impressive line with four goals, one assist and 15 draw controls.
“Casey scoring her 100th goal and getting the win means so much to all of the girls,” coach Rebecca Cartee Haring said. “Casey never stops working out there.
“She is such a team player that when she reached 100 goals she didn’t want a celebration. She turned to her teammates who wanted to cheer and said, ‘Let’s just keep playing.’ Having a player who is so humble really sets the tone for the other players.”
Emma Haring also had a big day with four goals, one assist and one draw control. Julia Carey added a hat trick. Contributing one goal each were Maddy McGarry, Erika Evan and Kristen Rice.
“It was also a great game for one of our freshmen, Erika Evan, who scored her first varsity goal, and it seemed like a poetic finish because Casey fed her the ball,” Cartee Haring said.
The game, according to the Bucks’ coach, was back and forth from the start, and the two teams went into halftime deadlocked 7-7.
“It took the defense a little time to get themselves settled, but what they have been able to do all season is come together and figure out the holes and fix them,” Cartee Haring said. “They tell me what will work.
“As a former defender, I respect what they see on the field. Izzy Treon and ShannenRoy led the defense, and their game sense has made all the difference.”
Central Bucks West (7-4, 4-0 SOL) – the ninth seed in the District 1 3A rankings – will host Mount Saint Joseph Academy in a non-league game Saturday at 12 noon.
