The Golden Bears turned up their defense several notches in the second half, shutting out the visiting Ghosts and turning a 6-5 halftime lead into the big non-league win. Leading the charge was UM goalie Gage Reagan, who was credited with 17 saves.

The Maidens – after dropping a pair of games by a total of three goals combined – capped a tough week with a non-league win over the visiting Bears.
“We came out stronger than we have in a while,” coach Heather Mellow said. “This was a huge win for us, especially coming off such a rough week of close games and losses.
“We needed this morale booster for our team. Our play was sloppy at times, but we are happy to have the victory.”
North Penn took a 6-3 lead into halftime only to watch the Bears rally to knot the score 7-7 midway through the half. With 10 minutes remaining, Boyertown went on top 8-7. Back-to-back goals by Bri O’Donnell put the Maidens on top by one, but the Bears refused to go away, rallying to knot the score 10-10.
