UPPER DUBLIN 17, HAVERFORD 12
Sparked by the glittering effort of Aditi Foster, the Flying Cardinals notched an impressive road win over an always tough Central League foe. The sophomore standout scored seven goals and assisted on two others. She also had six draw controls.
“We were able to string together some great fast breaks and score to gain momentum,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “We were without a starting midfielder, so the girls were able to adjust and come up with draw controls early to help us get a lead.”
The Cardinals led 13-8 at halftime and both teams scored just four goals in a defensive second half.
“The defense played a great game as a unit,” Cross said of Erin Eby, Abby O’Meara, Ava Costanzo and Katie English. “They are learning and gaining confidence each game.”
