SOUDERTON 6, PENNSBURY 5
The Indians took a 4-3 lead into halftime, and after a scoreless third quarter for both squads, both teams scored a pair of goals in the fourth.
Cole Witoslawski’s four-goal effort led the Indians while Matt Rauch and Brock Azeff each added a goal. Rauch also had an assist. Walker Martin and Jamison McDivitt each chipped in an assist for the Indians.
Axwell Beskar recorded 10 saves in goal in a strong outing for the Indians.
“Axell Beskar continues his excellent career and brings us his best every game,” coach Mark Princehorn said. “It was a hard fought team win and we are happy to take some steps forward.”
Luke Atiyeh led the Indians with six ground balls.
“Along with Axell Beskar and Luke Atiyeh, the entire ‘D’ played a great game,” Princehorn said. “Kain Turner, Manny Puente, Liam Hannon, Fergus Evanick, Nick Guthre and our entire midfield really stepped up for us.
“We start two sophomores (Puente and Hannon), and to see how they are growing as players and leaders has been a real joy.”
For the Falcons, Nick Sutton scored four goals and Shane Siegmund added a goal. Jake Krefetz won 10 of 13 face-offs and also had six ground balls. Charlie Nuschke also scooped up six ground balls.
Nico Cione was credited with two saves in goal for the Falcons.
Souderton (4-1) will host Wissahickon on Tuesday, and Pennsbury (4-3) will host Holy Ghost Prep on Saturday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 6, WISSAHICKON 4
The Bucks took a 3-2 lead into halftime and added a pair of unanswered goals in the third period to go on top 5-2 on their way to the hard fought win.
Erik Ojert led the Bucks with two goals and an assist. Adding single goals were Christian Kunkel, Jake Ojert, Jeff Woosnam and David Ross.
Playing key roles in the win were Max Dunar and Garrett Hitchens. Dunar recorded 12 saves in goal in another strong outing. Hitchens won 11 of 14 face-offs.
For the Trojans, Jackson Intrieri had a pair of goals while Brody Myers added a goal and an assist. Brett Lehman added a single goal.
Central Bucks West (5-0) will host Central Bucks East on Tuesday in its SOL opener. Wissahickon (3-2) will travel to Perkiomen Valley Saturday for a non-league game.

Looking for a fantastic finish? This was it.
Jenn McCarry gave the Flying Cardinals the heart-stopping win when she found the back of the net with one second remaining.
“We got it down on our offensive end with about 24 seconds left,” coach Dee Cross said. “The girls were passing the ball around. We had a couple of freshmen in there, and they did a great job of keeping possession. Jenn just brought the ball around the right side and drove hard right handed – it was right above goal line extended. It was unbelievable.
“It was a heartbreaking way for Boyertown to lose because their goalie in the second half really did a nice job, but for us to hold on with having a couple of young players and new varsity players out there – it was very exciting and just a confidence boost for them too, which was nice.”
It’s been a long time since Upper Dublin scored 19 goals in a lacrosse game – seven years to be exact since they defeated Downingtown West 20-11 on May 15, 2012.
On Friday, the Flying Cardinals came close to equaling that mark in a non-league game that featured end-to-end action and 37 goals between the two squads. Not surprisingly, the Cardinals had some head-turning individual efforts.
Mack Moore’s was especially notable as she had a hand in 12 goals, scoring seven goals and assisting on five others. Becky Browndorf added four goals and an assist.
“Becky Browndorf, as a senior, has really stepped up her game the last couple of games,” Cross said. “The three middies today were Becky Browndorf, Mack Moore and Jenn McCarry, and they were just all over the field and really helped in the transition and helped us get possession at key times.
“I think that was so key because I know they were exhausted, and they really did not stop. I couldn’t have asked for anything more out of them today. They just did a really nice job together – assisting each other, setting up the offense, settling down the defense. It was really good to see.
McCarry finished with a hat trick and one assist and Jackie Rama also had three goals and an assist. Julia Reardon contributed two goals.
Sophomore Riley Brady recorded six saves in goal.
“You can see she’s more comfortable in the clears, stepping out of the crease, and I think she’s getting better every game,” Cross said. “It’s good to have the girls in front of her to help settle the ball down too.”
The Cardinals were minus three regulars, making their performance even more impressive.
“We put some young players in, and I had no idea how we were going to do,” Cross said. “We started off knowing – we can play with this team. There were lead changes back and forth. The midfielders were back and forth and back and forth, and we really didn’t have a chance to slow the ball down much. It just seemed like everybody was full speed ahead.”
The Flying Cardinals trailed 12-11 at halftime. Momentum swung in the Bears’ favor when the Cardinals – the result of a yellow card – were down a player.
“In high school with it being non-releasable – they scored three goals in that two-minute span, and you can’t do anything about it, so it’s really important that we don’t get yellow cards,” Cross said.
The Cardinals were able to tie the game with less than a minute, and the action was far from over.
“Riley Brady, our goalie, made a point-blank save,” Cross said. “They got the rebound, but we were able to pick up the ground ball after kind of a scrum.
“We get the ball, and we’re running it down the field, and our girls on the sidelines started counting down from 10, and I’m thinking – who was going to shoot the ball because Boyertown did a really nice job of clogging up the middle. Jenn McCarry literally at the buzzer scored a goal. It was just unbelievable.”
The win was significant heading into conference play.
“This was huge because we’ve had some tough games in our non-league schedule, and Boyertown is always tough, no matter what,” Cross said. “They play in the PAC, and they face some really tough teams in their league.
“They’re the best 1-5 team out there. They’re very good and have just not gotten the breaks. They’ve had a lot of one-goal games. I would not overlook them at all. We sure didn’t. It was a huge boost to the girls and the young girls we were playing. We made little mental errors, but it didn’t cost us the game. We head into three games next week, and this will help us have a little more confidence.”
Upper Dublin (3-3, 1-0 SOL) will host Springfield Township on Monday.

For a Pennridge squad coming off of back-to-back 10-9 overtime losses, Friday’s win – the Rams’ first of the young season – was welcome indeed.
Morgan Wahlers scored four goals and assisted on two others while Jenna Lund had five goals and one assist to lead the charge for the Rams. Alex Lippmann and Macy Price both contributed one goal and one assist. Scoring one goal each were Caitlyn Amsden, Emily Amsden and Jill Scaszar.
Alex Machado recorded 12 saves in a standout effort in goal for the Rams.
Pennridge (1-4) will travel to Central Bucks West on Monday for its conference opener.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 20, WEST CHESTER EAST 7
Anna Green and Francine Richick both turned in monster performances, combining for 13 goals and seven assists to lead the Titans to the convincing non-league win. Green scored six goals and assisted on four others. She also had nine draw controls. Richick’s stat line was equally impressive as she finished with seven goals, three assists and seven draw controls.
Kate Victor added a hat trick and two assists, and Tegan Mullan had two goals and three assists. Bridget Curtis contributed one goal and two assists, and Janessa Watson had one goal. Caroline Brauckmann had one assist.
Katelyn Wendling turned away 10 shots in goal in a winning effort for the Titans.
Central Bucks South (4-1, 1-0 SOL) will host Gwynedd Mercy Academy on Monday in a non-league contest.
METHACTON 8, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 7 (OT)
The Bucks found themselves on the short end of a 4-2 halftime score but rallied in the second half, outscoring the host Warriors 5-2 before falling in overtime in a heartbreaker.
“The first half our attack struggled to get into a rhythm and turnovers hurt us,” coach Rebecca Cartee Harding said. “Our defense really kept us in the game, and (goalie) Lauren Ring came up with some big saves to keep the game close.
“After the half, we started to win some draws and convert on attack. With under eight minutes to go, we were down by two goals. I am proud of how the defense caused turnovers, especially the work of Izzy Treon and Shannon Roy. In the second half, the attack was able to find the back of the net to eventually gain the lead with 54 seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately, Methacton was able to get a great shot off with a second left to tie up the game and to put it away in OT. It was a tough overtime loss.”
Emma Haring led the Bucks with three goals, one assist and three ground balls. Shelby Hahn had two goals, and contributing one goal each were Maddy McGarry and Paige Gilbert. Treon had five caused turnovers and two ground balls.
“We have to continue to work on our individual talents and weaknesses and clean up some of our decision making,” Cartee Haring said. “If we are able to do that, I am confident that this team will see success.”
Central Bucks West (2-2) will host Pennridge in its SOL opener on Monday at 7 p.m.
