HARRY S TRUMAN 14, NORRISTOWN 9
The Tigers picked up their third win of the week, and they established the tone of Thursday’s win early, opening the game with five consecutive goals before Norristown got on the scoreboard. Truman took an 8-1 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Tigers allowed consecutive goals on man-down situations, but they were able to hold the lead into the fourth quarter.
Ricky Tran and Kyle Morris led the Tigers with five goals each. Also scoring goals were Justin Klein, Justin Terhune, Freddy Baez and Rian King.
“Offensively, we moved the ball well and did really well on fast breaks,” coach John Lapatchka said. “We still need to work on our defensive man-down. We also have to be mindful about our penalties, which caused us to break down.
“Our team has come together and continues to succeed both on and off the field. With a couple of days rest, I feel that as a team we will be ready for what lies ahead in competition.”

SOUTHERN LEHIGH 16, PENNRIDGE 11
Just over five minutes had elapsed in Thursday’s non-league game when Lauren Wolfe sprinted in for her fourth goal of the game to spot the Spartans a quick 5-0 lead. The Rams fought valiantly, rallying to make it a 7-5 game after three straight goals from freshman Grace Loughery and single goals from Jess Csaszar (Maddie Dachowski assist) and Jen Rodzewich. The Spartans reeled off five unanswered goals in the final 5:21 to make it a 12-5 game at the intermission.
That lead grew to 14-5 before the Rams found their stride, outscoring the Spartans 6-2 the rest of the way. Loughery and Csaszar led the Rams with the hat trick while Rodzewich had one goal and four assists. Devan Rimmer added a pair of goals, and Dachowski finished with a goal and an assist. Kate Ziegler closed out the game with a free position goal into an empty net after Spartan goalie Libby Dex was whistled for a foul.
“I feel like we played a lot better in the second half,” Rodzewich said. “We were looking for the passes more versus just running.
“(Instead of) going in to shoot it, we were running down, going behind net and trying to set up a play – looking for the easy pass instead of forcing it.”
The Rams are 1-1 on the young season.
Southern Lehigh 12-4 16
Pennridge 5-6 11
