Boys
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2, GREAT VALLEY 0
The Bucks had themselves quite a week.
A seven-day span that began with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Pennridge at Talen Energy Stadium last Sunday was capped with a shutout at Great Valley on Saturday. In between, the Bucks defeated Hatboro-Horsham 3-0 and knocked off previously undefeated North Penn 4-3 in another come-from-behind win – this one in overtime.
With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Bucks are third in the latest District One 4A power rankings, a jump of 10 spots from last week.
In Saturday’s win, Bailey Moyer once again wreaked havoc on an opponent’s defense, connecting for a pair of first-half goals. Jimi Leder assisted on the first and Alan Zlotin had the assist on the second.
Dylan Smith was forced to make just one save while earning his 11th clean sheet of the season.
Central Bucks West (13-2, 9-1 SOL) will host Quakertown on Tuesday.

The Panthers found themselves on the short end of a 1-0 halftime score but rallied to extend the Vikings to the limit before falling in overtime.
Max Schulze and Jon Lotrean each scored a goal in the second half, and at the end of regulation, the two teams were deadlocked. The Panthers found themselves playing down a man after losing Danny Higgins to a red card with 10-15 minutes remaining.
William Tennent (4-10, 3-7 SOL) will travel to New Hope-Solebury for a non-league contest on Monday.
Archbishop Wood 1-1-1 3

Quakertown (2-14, 0-10 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks West on Tuesday.
HOLY GHOST PREP 2, PENNSBURY 1
A pair of Nkosi Graham goals sent the Firebirds into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Matt Tennant converted a penalty kick to make it a 2-1 game, but that’s as close as the Falcons would get.

PENNSBURY 1, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (OT)
Sophomore Kendall Palatine scored the game-winner in overtime, propelling the Falcons to the hard-earned win.
“We earned a corner that didn’t generate an opportunity right away; however, a few different players got a touch on the ball to keep it alive,” coach Kaitlyn Battiste said. “Gianna Durle put it back in the mix where Christine Cataldo-Smith was able to get a last touch before Kendall Palatine put it away.
“Kendall had a great game. It was awesome to see her earn the game-winner.”
With some injuries and family commitments, the Falcons, according to Battiste, spent the better part of the week making defensive adjustments.
“Ella Palmieri normally plays outside defender for us, but she was a rock star central defender for us today,” the Falcons’ coach said.
The two teams exchanged goal-scoring opportunities throughout the two halves.
“We were fortunate to keep them off the board,” said Battiste, going on to credit the play of Rosie Bostian. “Rosie Bostian’s distribution was excellent from the middle of the field, enabling us to get in behind an organized and compact East defense.”
Pennsbury (11-2-1, 7-1-1 SOL) will travel to Harry S Truman on Tuesday, and Central Bucks East (5-9-2, 2-7-2) will be on the road at Pennridge on Tuesday.
Pennsbury 0-0-1 1
Central Bucks East 0-0-0 0
NORTH PENN 1, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 0 (OT)
Sophia Broadhurst scored with an assist from Olivia Jerome eight minutes into overtime, propelling the streaking Knights to their fourth win in as many games.
“It was scored off a set piece that we put together on a corner kick,” coach Steve Whitby said.
The visiting Knights had to overcome more than just the Ragdolls, there was also the not-so-little matter of sub-par field conditions.
“We were playing on a surface that – if this were a club team, I would have marched them right off,” Whitby said. “People were slipping and sliding. It was really bad. It was tough to possess the ball, which is what we like to do because it not only was wet and muddy – the ball would bounce over feet.
“I’m just glad we got out of there without injury. It was a very rough game – I want to say there were five yellow cards. I haven’t been involved in girls’ game with five yellow cards in a long time.”
The game got off to a slow start for the Knights.
“In the first half, we really came out flat,” Whitby said. “They probably had a little bit better of the play the first half. They came out with a little more hunger than we did, but in the second half we started to take control and have more chances.
“We probably outshot them 10-5 and corner kicks were 5-2. Once we got to overtime they looked like they had Saturday night plans. They didn’t get it across our side of the field.”
The Knights’ coach lauded the play of Emma Dixon, one of the team’s Knight of the Knights along with Broadhurst.
“Emma, for me, was the best player on the pitch,” Whitby said of his center back.
Ryan is 10-1 and in first place in the PCL.
“They’re a quality team,” Whitby said. “I think the way we’ve been playing – some of these games we’ve lost we’ve actually won the battle and lost the war. We’ve outplayed a lot of people. There’s nobody we haven’t outplayed since the beginning of the season, but we just weren’t scoring goals, and we were making one or two mistakes, and someone of quality was getting on the ball in the final third and finishing. We’re starting to finish some matches.”
The Knights – thanks to their winning streak – have moved up 10 spots to 13th in the latest District One 4A power rankings.
“We’re back in position to be in the playoffs,” Whitby said. “If they don’t put us in the playoffs, they’re making a big mistake.”
North Penn (8-5-3, 5-3-2 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East on Tuesday.
North Penn 0-0-1 1
Archbishop Ryan 0-0-0 0
HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 1
With just four regular season games remaining, the visiting Hatters, according to coach Kelsey Daley, were determined to get a win.
“It was a slow start, but once we got the ball moving around, it was a great game,” the Hatters’ coach said.
Both Maggie O’Neill and Grace Raskay found the back of the net in the first half, and Emily Thomas finished a breakaway in the second half.
“Today was a great solid win by the team,” Daley said. “We really played well together and had good confidence in each other.
“Senior Kelli McEachern has really stepped up for this team and has been putting everything she’s got into the past couple of games.”
Hatboro-Horsham (10-5, 8-3 SOL) will travel to Cheltenham Monday for a 7 p.m. game rescheduled from last week.
LANSDALE CATHOLIC 2, QUAKERTOWN 1
The visiting Crusaders edged the Panthers in a non-league match. Ashley Gluck scored the Panthers’ only goal. Emily Schall and Danielle Mehlmann each had a goal for the Crusaders.
The Panthers, according to coach Mike Koch, received strong efforts from Gluck, Piper Yerkes, Lizzie Maceri, Emma Geiser, Emelia Graham, Kacey Lambinus, Kyra Handel, Maddie Smith and Haley Pursel.
Quakertown (3-11-2, 1-8-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Monday.
