The Patriots erupted for three second-half goals en route to the non-league win in Friday’s regular season finale. Graiden Carter had three assists to lead the Patriots’ attack.
“They were a solid, well-coached team that kept it close in the first half,” coach Josh Isaacsohn said. “Over the course of the second half, we began to play stronger and began finishing.”
Junior Jacob Bing Zaremba turned a Carter assist into the Patriots’ only goal of the first half. Junior Michael Ferrante scored an unassisted goal, and senior Adam Zortilla (Carter assist) and senior Liam Meyers also scored second-half goals. Sophomore Mason Stein chipped in an assist.
Central Bucks East (10-6-2, 8-3-1 SOL) was seeded 15th heading into Sunday’s seeding meeting.
THE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 4, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 2
The Spartans found themselves locked in a 1-1 tie at the intermission, but they were outscored 3-1 in the second half. Evan Hincapie accounted for both Spartan goals, both on penalty kicks.
Springfield Township closed out the season with a 6-12 record (3-11 SOL).

The Rams bounced back from their first loss of the season with a solid team win over the SOL American champion Hatters.
Lindsey DeHaven staked the host Rams to a 1-0 lead with a tap-in off Leah Malone’s cross. Hatboro-Horsham locked down and kept it a one-goal game at the half.
Maddie Anderson extended the lead to 2-0 in the second half when she punched home a goal following a rebound off a shot on target from Chance Hendricks. DeHaven then added an assist, slipping a through ball to Liv Lowery for the final margin.
Goalkeeper Meghan Kriney posted the shutout for Pennridge.
Friday’s win and a loss by Conestoga to Cumberland Valley vaulted the Rams back to the No. 1 spot in the district rankings. Pennridge (16-1-1, 10-1-1 SOL) had fallen to No. 2 after Thursday’s loss to North Penn.
Hatboro-Horsham (15-2-1, 12-1-1) remained in control of the last first round bye, sitting in the No. 8 spot to finish out the day.

The Titans needed a win to try and snare one of the final District I 4A playoff spots but fell a couple goals short.
“We were so close to garnering one of the last playoff spots but think the back-to-back-game with West last night left many of the players fatigued,” Titans coach Betsy Bullock said. “It was a see-saw battle in the first half and scoreless. Villa scored midway through the second half off a breakaway and added a second goal toward the end of the game.”
South will now wait and see if the rankings change before Sunday’s seeding meeting and find them a way into the postseason.
“The Lady Titans were led by captains Lauren Farrell and Lauren Ewell who continued to work tirelessly until the end of the game,” Bullock said. “Goalkeeper Kristen Conway kept it close with 10 saves.”
The Titans (6-10-2, 5-7 SOL) sat No. 26 in the District I 4A rankings at the end of the night.

The Patriots closed their 2019 season with a good team win on Friday.
“It was just a great day for us. We were able to get our full team in, and our seniors went out with a great win,” East coach Jake Nesteruk said. “Four of our five goals came from seniors, and despite all the tears that it was over, I was really happy to see these kids finish on a good note.”
East led 2-0 at the half on goals from Kristina Furuseth and Grace Taylor. Emily Delfini, Lindsey Thompson and Olivia Black scored in the second half.
“Our captains, Marissa Plack, Olivia Plack, Anna Valko, and Morgan Dorsey are the ones to credit for this one,” Nesteruk said. “Proud that they left the program in a better spot than they found it!”

William Tennent 2, Lower Moreland 0
The Panthers ended their season with a victory over a Lions team they’ll share a conference with in the new-look SOL next fall.
Caitlin Somerville scored in the 32nd minute and Danielle Scott added a tally in 65th minute for Tennent.
William Tennent finished the year with a 7-10 record (4-8 SOL).
