Boys
WISSAHICKON 2, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 2 (OT)
The Trojans and Colonials – or, more specifically, Wissahickon’s Eddie Fortescue and PW’s David Shi – spent Tuesday’s conference contest exchanging goals. Fortescue put the Trojans on the board with a goal in the 27th minute. That 1-0 lead held up for all of two minutes when Shi answered with a goal for the Colonials.
That 1-1 tie stood until Shi scored in the 76th minute. Two minutes later, Fortescue answered for the Trojans. That turned out to be the extent of the scoring for both squads.
David Goldstein and Christian Vorchheimer contributed assists for the Trojans while Jacobe Sandcroft and Stricklin had helpers for the Colonials.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (0-1-2, 0-0-2 SOL) will host Cheltenham on Wednesday, and Wissahickon (1-0-1, 1-0-1) will be on the road at Springfield Township Wednesday.

QUAKERTOWN 2, PALISADES 1
The Panthers picked up their first win of the young season, edging the visiting Pirates in a non-league contest. The Panthers got on the board, thanks to an own goal. With 11 minutes remaining, Brendan Kishbaugh scored the game-winner with an assist from Logan Suchanec.
Palisades received its lone goal on Daniel Muth’s free kick into the top corner.
The Panthers generated plenty of offensive opportunities, but the Palisades keeper kept the Pirates in it with 13 saves.

Girls
STRATH HAVEN 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 2
Tennent gave an undefeated Strath Haven squad all it could handle in Tuesday’s non-league contest, knotting the score in the second half on a goal by Brittany Swaim in the 63rd minutes. The host Panthers answered with a late goal to eke out the win, improving to 4-0. Strath Haven is behind only undefeated Bishop Shanahan in the District One 3A rankings.
Strath Haven led 2-0 at halftime, but in the 47th minute, Chelsea Metzler put Tennent on the board.
“We fought back in the second half with great efforts by Brittany Swaim and Chelsea Metzler,” coach Bill Hontz said. “We were trailing 2-0 at the half and decided to change our tactics with our midfielders.
“Strath Haven scored late with a good goal. They are a nice team that possesses the ball well. We had an unfortunate goal scored against us about three minutes into the game that we were fighting to come back from. Ciarra McFeely also had a nice defensive game that allowed movement forward.”
William Tennent (2-2, 1-0 SOL) will travel to Council Rock North on Wednesday.
William Tennent 0-2 2
Strath Haven 2-1 3
