Boys
UPPER MORELAND 6, NORRISTOWN 4
The Golden Bears scored four goals in the opening 15 minutes of Tuesday’s game, but the Eagles answered with a three-goal run of their own to make it a 4-3 game early in the second half. Finding the net for the Eagles were junior Oscar Garcia, sophomore Narcisse Bakutibe and senior Brendan Kelly.
Minutes later, the Golden Bears scored to regain control on their way to the 6-4 win.
“It was a great effort by both teams,” UM coach Dan Mannella said.
Senior Jose Pelaez accounted for Norristown’s final goal.
For the Golden Bears, Brendan O’Donnell (two goals, one assist) and Kevin Cannon (two goals, one assist) both had a hand in three goals. Kenny Mitchell also had a pair of goals. Randy Meehl contributed a goal and an assist. Jake Winter added an assist.
Upper Moreland (3-4, 2-4 SOL) will travel to Upper Merion on Tuesday. Norristown (1-6, 0-6) will host Boyertown on Thursday.

UPPER MERION 5, SPRINGFIELD 1
Alan Castillo scored a pair of goals, and teammates Josue Perez, Brendan Magdamo and John Lowrey each added single goals.
Mike Bonacci accounted for Springfield’s goal.
Upper Merion (2-3-2, 2-2-2 SOL) will host Upper Moreland next Tuesday, and Springfield (1-6, 1-5) also is off until next Tuesday when the Spartans will travel to Upper Dublin.
Girls
UPPER MORELAND 6, NORRISTOWN 1
The Golden Bears upped their winning streak to three games Tuesday, opening up a 2-0 halftime lead on their way to the win. Sydney Bachmayer (Brianna Byard assist) and Madison Pisut (Maggie Finn assist) accounted for the two goals. Both were scored in a span of just over a minute – Bachmayer’s goal 13:12 into the game and Finn’s 14:40 into the contest.
In the second half, Bachmayer (Byard assist), Byard and Christina Kane scored back-to-back-to-back goals to give the Golden Bears a 5-0 lead before Norristown’s Lauren Fortescue connected in the 70th minute. Sarah Veneziale answered with a goal for the Bears, using an assist off a free kick from Elizabeth Magaha.
Upper Moreland (3-4, 3-3 SOL) will travel to Truman on Thursday for an afternoon game. Norristown (0-6) will host Penn Wood on Thursday.

SPRINGFIELD 3, UPPER MERION 1
Neither team got on the scoreboard in what Springfield coach Suzette Wolf described as a relatively quiet game.
Emily Giampietro found the back of the net 10 minutes into the second half, using a Katherine Nelson assist. It was a 2-0 game after Lindsey Smith took a direct kick from 30 yards out and Emily Cooney tapped it in. The Vikings interrupted the Spartans’ run with a goal of their own to make it a 2-1 game, but Sarah Potocki scored with nine minutes remaining for the final margin of victory.
Springfield (4-2 SOL) is off until Tuesday when the Spartans will host Upper Dublin. Upper Merion (1-7, 1-5) will travel to Upper Moreland next Tuesday.
