The Patriots used a second half goal by Kristen Murphy to eke out the win in Tuesday’s showdown against archrival West in the Kick for Pink game. The win avenged a 1-0 loss to the Bucks on Sept. 17.
“In the first half, we were going with the wind, and we had a number of opportunities,” Eisold said. “We were really hoping we would be successful in the first half because we knew in the second half we were going against the wind.
“We know with Grace (Benton) and what she can do, serving balls, goalkeeping punts and all that stuff – we knew it was going to be an uphill battle. We prepared the girls for that and said they should continue working and be resilient and just have a good work ethic. Whatever happens happens. We need to be happy with our work ethic at the end of the game.”
The Patriots worked hard, and in the 64th minute broke the scoreless deadlock with a goal by Murphy.
“Emma Loving, who has been really good for us, pretty much received the ball, and she beat about four or five players and played a ball up to Kristen Murphy,” Eisold said. “Kristen Murphy got by the defense and really slotted a very nice ball behind Grace. It was probably the third or fourth really good opportunity for Kristen, so she was feeling frustrated.
“Once again we went back to telling them to keep working. You want to leave the field knowing you did everything you could, and it just broke for her. I’m really proud of her. She did all the right things. She hung there.”
“That’s kind of where this team is. We’ve been beaten down a little bit. We came in and had some big wins out of league, but losing to Pennridge and West, we knew there was a little bit of an uphill battle. Thus far, playing in our favor is our strength of schedule.
“We believe to be the best you have to play the best, and we have done that the past three years. This year has been our absolute hardest schedule ever, and I think it’s paid off for us.”
While Murphy provided the game winner, teammate Cailyn Hankins came up with the game saver.
“Maybe 30 seconds left – goal line post, and she saved it,” Eisold said. “West could have tied it and sent it to overtime.”
For her effort, Hankins earned the ‘Super Hero Award’ for the contest.
“It’s given out every game, and the award is simply that they perform something in the game that is super natural,” Eisold said.
Hankins was one of many heroes on a list that included Murphy and Loving.
“There were a couple of opportunities for both girls, so up top, they were constant high pressure,” Eisold said. “I’m really proud of our center back, Abby Brown. She has been getting better every game.
“Emily Horn played very well defensively, and Maddie Myrtetus played well at midfield and back. We have really been getting a lot of productivity from two freshman – Delaney Kennedy and Kate Schlotter.”
Keeper Katie Dolf earned the shutout.
Tuesday’s Kick for Pink Night was part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The two teams combined forces to raise funds to support women in the community who are battling breast cancer.
“CB East and CB West would like to thank everybody who attended tonight and participated,” Eisold said. “It was tremendous organization on the part of the parents.
“They really put together a nice program – a lot of women were recognized. We also had a lot of younger girls come out. It was great to see the turnout.”

The Maidens won an overtime thriller against their neighboring rival when Maddy McClure scored three minutes into the first overtime period. The game winner was set up by Hannah Alexander’s corner kick.
McClure’s game winner doesn’t happen if North Penn keeper Laura Leonard had not delivered a brilliant save just 30 seconds into overtime.
Also coming up big for the Maidens, according to coach Jim Dehner, were Allison Williams, Tina Miller, Marissa Brown, Ally King, Anna Pedicone, Kristin Wilkinson, Riley Houlihan, Liz Volz and Steph Bresadola.
The Maidens (9-6-2, 5-6-2 SOL) will close out conference play by traveling to Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday night. The Indians (6-9-1, 5-8) will celebrate Senior Night in Thursday’s regular season finale.

Pennridge celebrated Senior Night by taking yet another step toward the program's sixth consecutive conference title.
Five minutes into the game, Katie Fischer connected on the only goal the Lady Rams would need in their shutout win over the Hatters. Erin Stevenson assisted on Fischer’s game winner.
For good measure, Fischer tacked on an insurance goal in the second half, this time capitalizing on a cross from Courtney Supp.
Kaitlyn Moran earned the shutout in goal for the Lady Rams, who improved to 10-1-2 and maintained their three-point lead over the Patriots atop the conference standings. The Lady Rams, who are 12-1-3 overall, will travel to Quakertown for their final conference game Wednesday night. SPRINGFIELD (MONTCO) 6, UPPER MERION 0
The Spartans put the damper on Upper Merion’s Senior Night celebration, jumping out to a 4-0 halftime lead on their way to the big win.
Katelyn Gilinger once again ignited the Spartans, connecting for the hat trick and jumpstarting her team when she converted a penalty kick to put the Spartans on the scoreboard.
“We started out a little bit shaky,” coach Suzette Wolf said. “I think they were a little nervous, a little uncomfortable because it was their Senior Night, so they had a big crowd.
“Katelyn Gilinger got taken down in the box, so we got a penalty kick for the first goal, and Katelyn put it in. That kind of broke the ice.”
Scoring single goals for the Spartans were Brianna Littlepage, Caroline Pape and Jewell Ringgold.
The Spartans (9-6-1, 8-4-1 SOL) will host Upper Dublin on Wednesday afternoon for their final conference game while the Vikings (2-14-1, 2-10-1) will travel to Upper Moreland on Thursday night for their season finale.

Jason Reimert connected for the hat trick to lead the Titans to the big win. It was John Miller scoring an unassisted goal 15 minutes into the contest, and in the 16th minute, Reimert went to work, turning a Colin Fagan pass into a goal. Danny Remick’s unassisted goal in the 22nd minute put the Titans on top 3-0. The Titans took that three-goal advantage into halftime.
In the 46th minute, Colin McGonigal (Miller assist) scored, and six minutes later Reimert turned a pass from Remick into a goal. Reimert’s unassisted goal in the 60th minute put the Titans on top 6-0 before Matt Munsell scored in the 68th minute to break up South’s shutout bid.
