CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2, PENNRIDGE 1 (OT)
The Bucks have the Rams’ number. At least they did in this year’s season series, defeating a Rams’ squad that is on the rise for the second time in as many outings, and this one was a thriller.
The two teams appeared destined to settle for a tie, but Carlin McFadden had other ides, scoring the game-winner with 30.9 seconds remaining in OT on the scoreboard clock.
“Carlin rushed the cage,” coach Ginny Moore said.
Earlier, Kayla Richards put the Rams on the board less than a minute into the game.
“We held them off the rest of the half,” Moore said. “Both teams excelled at advancing the ball and connecting with their posse.”
Finally, with six minutes remaining in the game, the Bucks were awarded a corner. Moore credited sophomore Em Erickson for forcing the call. Casey Reichwein banged home the game winner, using an assist from senior Anya DeAngelis. That sent the teams into a nail-biting overtime.
Moore lauded the strong play of Julia Bunch, Sara Lelii, Lauren Hahn and Emily Erickson.
“Cassidy Pitts had incredible saves,” Moore said of her goalie. “With everyone hustling, our victory was truly a team effort.”
Making the night even more special was the fact that it was the team’s Pink Out game.
“Both teams played with admirable intensity tonight,” Moore said. “It was an unforgettable Pink Out game. I’m extremely proud of my whole CB West field hockey program. The freshman team beat South 8-0, and the jayvee won 2-0, a triple victory for CB West field hockey.”

QUAKERTOWN 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 1
The Panthers celebrated Senior Night by picking up a non-league win over the visiting Crusaders.
All the eligible seniors played for the first half.
Led by senior captain Emma Pizzullo, Taylor Ponak, Diana Kahindo, Marianna Oliveries and supported by the seniors on the injured list – goalie Amanda Tuley and Suzie Njunge -who together sang the National Anthem.
“It’s amazing how many ways you can contribute and support your team,” coach Kelly Driscoll said.
The Panthers got on the board when Fallon Grandinetti scored with an assist from captain Halle Frederick. The Crusaders rallied to knot the score, but the Panthers would not be denied.
Halle Frederick scored on a corner shot with an assist by Angela Harbeck. Lauren Junker’s goal closed out the scoring.
“It was a well-fought game by both teams,” Driscoll said. “The girls worked together and, in my opinion, dominated the game.
“We gave up many free hits but capitalized on finishing opportunities in the circle while LC was unable to. Both teams played for the full 60 minutes, and there were certainly times in the game where it could have gone either way.
Quakertown (3-9, 0-8) will host North Penn on Thursday.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 9, UPPER DUBLIN 1
Senior Casey Reilly scored four goals and assisted on another to lead the Titans to the convincing non-league win. The senior captain reached a personal milestone when she collected her 100th career point.
“CB South played well today and connected on some beautiful goals,” South coach Pat Toner said.
It was Ashley Timby (Annie Brady assist) putting the Titans on the scoreboard less than five minutes into the game. That 1-0 score stood until Wasyliw scored back-to-back goals in a 12-second span midway through the half. Reilly assisted on the second.
Then it was Reilly connecting on an unassisted goal before the Flying Cardinals got on the scoreboard with 2:16 remaining in the half when Maisie Hanson scored with a Ryann Kullmann assist. Another Reilly goal – this one with a Brady assist – sent the Titans into halftime with a 5-1 lead.
The second half included a pair of goals by Reilly (Wasyliw assist on the first) sandwiched around single goals by Kate Peppiatt and Mel Dunton (Megan Weeks assist).
“The score is not indicative of the hard work and tough play of Upper Dublin,” Toner said. “Their talented group of players fought until the final whistle while UD goalkeeper Meghan Muth made some excellent saves.
“I have the utmost respect for UD coach Heather Boyer and appreciate the quality program she runs as well as the hard work she does for our state organization.”
Muth was credited with 16 saves while South goalie Jillian Heilig had two saves.
