Check out the recaps for SOL field hockey teams in action Wednesday.
SOL Continental Conference
SOUDERTON 2, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
The Indians scored a pair of goals in the first half, but any thoughts that this one would be easy were put to rest in the second half.
“While we never like to lose, I am extremely proud of our team today,” South coach Pat Toner said. “As any sports season goes on, it becomes a game of chess trying to adjust to injuries and illnesses.
“This morning we found out that our captain and one of our top payers and leaders (Mel Dunton) had a high fever and was unable to play. We were forced to change our line-up, our offensive corners and defensive corners and did so on the bus on the way to the game.”
It was the Kenah siblings accounting for the Indians’ goals. Courtney Kenah (Anna Gwiazdzinski assist) put the Indians on the scoreboard with 13:15 remaining in the first half. Four minutes later, Lauren Kenah found the back of the cage to send the Indians into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
South senior Casey Reilly (Megan Weeks assist) cut the Indians’ lead in half with 11:44 remaining in regulation.
“The first half we played tentative as we struggled to adjust to our new lineup,” Toner said. “The second half we played very well.
“We knew that Souderton had only given up 12 goals all season, but we also knew that four of them were to us, so we felt confident we could score. After giving up two goals in the first half, Casey Reilly buried a beautiful lifted shot on a feed from Megan Weeks.”
The Indians held an advantage in shots (11-6) and corners (7-5).
Souderton (12-2, 9-2 SOL) will travel to Gwynedd Mercy for a non-league game on Friday, and Central Bucks South (8-6-1, 5-4-1) will travel to North Penn on Thursday.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 5, BENSALEM 0
Hannah Barsky scored four goals in a standout offensive effort, and Lindsey O’Brien added a single goal. Nikki Jackson and Sarah Everett each added an assist. It might have been more had it not been for the stellar outing of Bensalem goalie Emily McGiven.
“Emily McGiven had an amazing game in goal for Bensalem with 20 saves,” CR North coach Heather Whalin said.
Lucy Breithaupt earned her first varsity shutout in goal for the Indians.
Council Rock North (10-4-1, 8-2-1 SOL) will travel to Wissahickon for a non-league game Friday, and Bensalem (3-11, 2-9) will host Norristown in a non-league game Friday.
