CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 6, PENNRIDGE 2
The Patriots took a 3-0 lead into halftime on their way to the decisive win.
“Getting back into conference play is extremely exciting after having had started the season with this same order of games,” East coach Emma Rosenthal said. “The score may not have reflected the improvements from the first time that we played Pennridge, but the game and the stats most definitely did.”
Sophia Parker (Paige Hussie assist) put the Patriots on the scoreboard in the opening quarter, and Parker – who finished with a hat trick – scored her second goal to put the Patriots on top 2-0 in the second quarter. A goal by Caroline Suko gave the Patriots their three-goal lead at the intermission.
“We came out hot today, notching three goals in the first half – two within fifteen seconds of each other,” Rosenthal said. “We’ve been working a lot on capitalizing on our opportunities, and we did just that today.”
The Rams found the cage in the third quarter to make it a 3-1 game heading into the final frame that saw the Patriots explode for three more goals. Parker wrapped up her hat trick while Paige Keller and Suko both added a goal.
“Paige Keller and Olivia Nolan both played an excellent game in the midfield for us, and Sophia Parker was able to drive it home with a hat trick,” Rosenthal said. “Caroline Suko has been a force to be reckoned with all season, and today’s game was no different. We’re really looking forward to keeping the momentum rolling through the rest of the week.”
