CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
Perfection.
It’s difficult to attain, but the Titans found a way to make it through their 14-game SOL Continental Conference schedule without a blemish. No losses. No ties. Just wins, 14 of them.
“It’s awesome,” coach Brittany Grzywacz said. “I’m just happy to be able to carry on the winning tradition they have at South.”
Win number 14 wasn’t easy, but the Titans used a goal by Ally McDonald to edge their neighboring rival.
“This game was so important to us,” McDonald said. “Not only did we want a 14-0 season, but we wanted to prove to everyone that we’re not a team to be messed with.”
The Titans – 24 hours removed from scoring on three corners – once again capitalized on a corner to score the game winner, and West coach Courtney Hughes knew her team’s ability to defend the Titans’ corners would be key.
On 10 of 11 corners, the Bucks were effective.
“We did a really good job,” Hughes said. “We changed our personnel around today, knowing how they play their corners.
“Really they caught us when we didn’t have everyone in that we needed to have in.”
The two teams battled to a scoreless tie after one half, but the Titans hit paydirt on their third corner of the second half. They scored in familiar fashion when – after receiving the insert pass from Emily Cliggett – Corrine Kenney fired a shot in the direction of goal that was deflected into the cage by McDonald, who was on the goalie’s pads.
“It’s really a thrill and a rush of energy,” said McDonald of scoring on a tip. “I’m very confident in the girls on the top of the circle.
“Their shots are fabulous, and even without our deflections, they can get it in, but I think the deflections add to the intensity.”
The Bucks battled until the end, drawing five second half corners, but their best chance to get on the scoreboard actually came with five minutes remaining in the first half when – during a bang-bang sequence – South’s Erin Chioffe stopped a ball on the goal line. West goalie Brianna DeAngelis and South’s Sarah Zeszotarski also delivered big saves over the course of the game.
The Titans closed out the regular season 14-0 in league play (16-2 overall).
“It’s really amazing,” McDonald said. “We all miss Jeff (Harding) and how great a coach he is, but Brit really pulled the team together in such a short time.”
The Bucks closed out the regular season with a 10-4 record in SOL play (13-4 overall).
Central Bucks West 0-0 0

The Hatters celebrated Senior Night by shutting out the Rams on a night that saw them recognize seniors Emily Braunewell, Jenna Cutilli, Jaime DiQuattro, Nicole Heinze, Dominika Page and Casey Swezey.
A goal by Kelsy Hopkins at the 18:49 mark of the first half sent the Hatters into halftime with a 1-0 lead. DiQuattro scored using a Gabby Acker assist just over four minutes into the second half. Another Hopkins goal, this one with an assist from Dominika Page, put the Hatters on top 3-0 with 11:30 remaining in regulation. DiQuattro connected on her second goal with a Swezey assist to close out the scoring.
Braunewell was forced to make just two saves in the shutout.

ABINGTON 2, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
The Ghosts celebrated Senior Night by closing out their season on a winning note.
“In true Senior Night fashion, seniors Courtney Klug, Maeve Hughes and Jess Moretti, ended their high school careers leading their team to victory while highlighting their individual talents,” coach Amanda Deering said. “Maeve Hughes was a wall on defense, Courtney Klug set up offensive plays on the right side of the field, and Jess Moretti controlled the offensive pressure from the center mid position.”
The Ghosts got on the scoreboard 11 minutes into the game after junior Brianna Jameson dodged a Tiger defender and found sophomore Sam McGee for the score. They took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
The two teams battled in the second half until senior Jessica Moretti scored an unassisted goal for the 2-0 final.
Abington goalie Alyssa Herman earned the shutout.
