Non-league
NESHAMINY 4, NORTH PENN 1
The Redskins will enter next week’s District 1 3A Tournament on a high note after picking up an impressive non-league road win over the also district-bound Knights.
Kasey Rieger scored less than a minute into the game, effectively setting the tone for the Redskins. The Knights came back to knot the score on a goal from Kylie Barwis two minutes into the second quarter.
That tie turned out to be short-lived as the Redskins answered with the go-ahead goal just over a minute later when Norah Saloky turned a pass from Mia Brooks into a goal. The Redskins took that 2-1 lead into halftime.
It was still a 2-1 game heading into the fourth quarter when Rieger scored her second goal – this one with an assist from Ava Arbakov. Salocky also scored her second goal in the fourth quarter, connecting on an unassisted goal.
