Check out the recaps for SOL field hockey teams in action Wednesday.
SOL Continental Conference
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 6, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Bucks celebrated Senior Night by notching a convincing win in their season finale. Prior to the game, coach Ginny Moore told her seniors they were staying in unless they asked for a sub.
“They went on to play an hour of beautiful hockey,” the Bucks’ first-year coach said. “The Bucks played for each other, and anyone in the stands could see it. They were connecting passes and supporting each other across the field. It was a wonderful way to the end season.
“The seniors – accompanied by two underclassmen, Julia Bunch and Julia Laurie – left it all out on the field tonight. Casey Reichwein, Keeley Boell and Darien Brandison showed great hustle and aggression on ‘D.’ Julia Bunch and Julia Laurie created so many offensive opportunities the whole game. Kristen Rice, Lauren Hahn and Anya DeAngelis had great runs and stepped up to the ball. Amanda McDermott and Caitlin Mulligan persisted in the circle and generated a whole lot of offense.
“Our goalkeeper Cassidy Pitts was an incredible anchor for this team all season long. The Bucks were hungry tonight, and their hard work all season paid off. The coaches are mighty proud of their team’s improvement and tenacity this season.”
DeAngelis and Reichwein both scored a pair of goals. Lauren Hahn assisted on the first DeAngelis goal, and DeAngelis assisted on Reichwein’s second goal. Laurie turned a Mulligan pass into a goal, and McDermott used an assist from Hahn to score the game’s final goal.
