LOWER MORELAND 4, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1
Four different players scored one goal each for the Lions, who closed out the regular season with their third straight win.
Mady Rossiter, Kaitlyn Koshy, Mia Torgan and Cara Toran each had a goal while Ashley Avington had a pair of assists.
Scoring Summary
Mady Rossiter – 1 goal
Kaitlyn Koshy – 1 goal
Mia Torgan – 1 goal
Cara Torgan – 1 goal
Ashley Avington – 2 assists
Lower Moreland coach Janet Lutter on the win: “We have worked hard all season and grew as a team, finishing with a three-game win streak.
–The scoring: “Mady Rossiter opened the scoring the first off a penalty corner. Kaitlyn Koshy scored the second goal after many attempts and rebounds off the goalie’s pads. With only 23 seconds left, Mia Torgan closed out the second quarter with a beauty of a goal. Her sister Cara (Torgan) dribbled her way through the circle to score the final goal with only 49 seconds left in the game.
“I was happy we were able to find the goal in the final seconds of each of the last two quarters. We’ve had too many times this season where we faded to end quarters which cost us too many times. Keeping that pressure until the buzzer sounds was a great way to go into the postseason.”
–Props: “Ashley Avington has been a playmaker all season, and today was no different, assisting the first two goals of the game. We carry a large squad so being able to get all 25 players in the game today was nice. They have all worked so hard this season so being able to get everyone in is rewarding. We will graduate nine amazing seniors who have been a part of our program for four years. They will all be missed next year, but we aren’t finished yet.”
