Check out the recaps for SOL field hockey teams in action Tuesday.

Non-league
WISSAHICKON 4, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3
Camilla Lutte.
Remember the name. The Wissahickon freshman had herself a varsity debut to remember, connecting on the game-winner with 10 seconds remaining in regulation on a reverse chip from an impossible angle on the left of the cage.
The freshman standout – a member of the U16 Women’s National Team – brings an impressive resume to the team, and Lutte certainly lived up to her billing, finishing with a hat trick and assisting on the third goal.
The win also was the first for coach Lee Ann Marchesi, who found herself in the unique position of coaching against her daughter – South midfielder Ella Marchesi.
“It was definitely something to remember, definitely a game to remember,” the Trojans’ first-year coach said.
The Trojans looked as though they were in complete command – opening up a 2-0 halftime lead and a 3-0 advantage early in the third quarter – only to see the Titans come roaring back to knot the score.
For the Titans, Amy Hazell contributed a goal and an assist while Tessa Walls and Erin Kelly each scored a goal.

Cami Lutte (W) from Carly Lehman 14:50 4-3
Wissahickon coach Lee Ann Marchesi:
–Lutte’s game-winner: “I would really like to give Cami Lutte credit because with 20 seconds left on the clock – we were yelling to play with urgency, and she really took the team on her back, moved beautifully into space and scored on a reverse chip. She took the ball to the left, carried baseline and put in a beautiful top shelf reverse goal. It was so pretty, and there was 10 seconds left in the game. She was set up on a pass from Carly Lehman, who’s a sophomore. It was very exciting.”
–The game: “It was a great game on both sides. We have incredible depth as far as scoring, but their defense really did a great job holding us back. The midfielders on both teams were very strong, so it was very much a chess match between our mids trying to get the ball to our forward line.
“We’re in the first week of the season, and we have three games this week. We just haven’t been in field hockey shape. Physically, we have the conditioning down. It’s just the stamina for the whole game. We were up 3-0, and CB South was relentless. The entire game they did not give up. They had a beautiful desire and hunger. When we couldn’t find the ball, they had it. They did not let up for a single second. They stepped to every ball and for every ball. Their keeper (Brianna Lucas) was incredible when she needed to be. It was just such a well-played game.
“Our senior leadership was really incredible. They stayed positive the whole time. Their team exposed the parts of our game that we’re working on, so it was great for us to learn and move forward.”
–Props: “The leadership in the center from Audrey Walsh is unparalleled. She stayed positive, she was really great at directing us on an off ball. Kayla Mullin had really great energy, constantly trying to get creative and innovative to move past their back line. Riley Ball was relentless in her pursuit, whether it was trying to move off the ball to receive a pass or to get us going in a slump. They’re my three captains, and for them to step up in different ways was really beautiful.
“Also Noelle Koop – there were quite a bit of cards thrown on both sides. We really saw Koop’s resilience and her ability to play the left and the right.
“We have a freshman keeper – Rae Stiteler, and she kept her cool in the cage. To see Rae step up into a varsity level game from the middle school – she’s really doing a great job processing what’s happening, and she did not let the goals scored in the third quarter hold her back from being aggressive or communicating with her backs. Our defensive line really held the circle when it mattered most.”
CB South coach Kelli Chioffe:
“While the game did not end like we wanted it to, our coaches are very proud of our team’s comeback. Despite the heat, our girls came alive in the third quarter from a three-goal deficit to score three goals and tie the game. It was so exciting to see them push themselves. They all gave 110 percent today.
“The hardest part was when Wissahickon found the back of the cage with 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to break the tie and get the win. Camilla Lutte had a beautiful reverse chip shot. Needless to say, we were stunned.”
–How they scored: “Amy Hazell ignited the spark to get the team onto the scoreboard. Followed by another run from Hazell who sent the ball into the circle for Tessa Walls to score. Then minutes later, captain Erin Kelly carried the ball into the circle and drove a rocket into the back of the cage.
–Props: “Great defensive play by captain Ella Haag, Avery Tyler, Kelly Hemsley and Sophia Kraft. Carrie Williams and Ella Marchesi held the middle together for us today. Our forwards – Kaeli VanDerSluis, Addy Edwards, Amy Hazell and Erin Kelly – continued to push hard in getting the ball into the offensive circle. We will continue to work hard at practice and look forward to our next game.”

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1
The Hatters broke a scoreless halftime tie with three second-half goals to earn their first season-opening win in quite a few years. Sophomore Annabelle Deacon’s two goals led the Hatters.
“We struggled in the first half to capitalize on our corners,” HH coach Marie Schmucker said. Deacon put the Hatters on the scoreboard in the third quarter with an assist from Avery Mullen. After the Panthers evened the score, Deacon connected on an unassisted goal in the fourth quarter to give the Hatters a lead they would not lose. Sophomore Mackenzie Harmon tacked on an insurance goal, using Mullen’s second assist of the game.
Junior Mia Fisher was strong in goal for the Hatters, recording six saves.

Coach Marie Schmucker: “I only have two seniors. I have a very young team – I call them puppies. Today’s win was a total team effort. They played together as a team. I always say to them – ‘Work smarter, not harder.’ Just the fact that they’re looking up. Last year, kids had no idea where other kids were. They listen, and they’re so coachable, and that’s nice. I told them – ‘Be a sponge.’ There’s still a lot we have to work on. Our midfield was really solid for us today. I think we had 11 corners. We play Abington on Friday, so we’ll see.”
Next up: Hatboro-Horsham (1-0) will host Abington on Friday (10 am).
William Tennent will travel to Upper Moreland on Thursday.

QUAKERTOWN 5, PENNRIDGE 1
The Panthers trailed 1-0 early and found themselves deadlocked with the Rams at halftime but then erupted for four second-half goals on their way to the win in Tuesday’s rivalry game.
Pennridge’s Ella Parsons scored on a corner two minutes into the game, using an assist from Leah Verespy. That 1-1 score stood until the third quarter when the visiting Panthers scored a pair. They added two more in the fourth quarter. Paige Longacre and Cassidy Landis both scored two goals for the Panthers.

Quakertown coach MacKenzie Moser:
–The game: “It was a great game. Pennridge and Quakertown are always so intense rivalry-wise. We had a slow start. The biggest thing today – they scored in the first three minutes, and we responded later in the quarter. Sunny Draper had a great shot into the corner – no tap needed. It was a beautiful shot. Second quarter was a lot of midfield play. We sat down during halftime and readjusted. We talked about communication, second shots – we were struggling with that today. Not only second shots but rebounds. If it hits the goalie’s pads, someone’s got to be there, or post shots – we’ve got to get those tap-ins.
“It was hot today. That was another thing – a lot of subbing, changing things up, trying to keep fresh legs. In the third and fourth quarters, things started to come together. We were meshing a lot better, communicating better, capitalizing on second shots on balls coming off the goalie’s pads or even just tip-ins. The wings and forwards – it was almost like after halftime we came alive. That was huge. We can’t have those slower starts. It’s got to be there during the first and second quarters, not just third and fourth.”
–Props: “The defense had some strong moments, clearing the ball out. I feel sometimes I don’t give my defense enough credit. Ember Retter, Penny Longacre both had great clears, and our goalie, Darcy Baxter, had a couple of good saves. It just looked really good today defensively and offensively. It was just a slower start, which we’ve been discussing.”
Pennridge coach Elena Romesburg:
–Props: “I want to highlight the play of our center back Kira Mangin and our goalkeeper Charlotte Gozzard, who turned away many tough shots. Also, Lexi Capo played stellar in the midfield defensively and held us together distributing the ball.”
