SOL Freedom Division
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 3, UPPER MORELAND 1
Zoe Longstreth scored six minutes into Monday’s contest only to see the Spartans score back-to-back goals in the frame for a lead they would not lose. Norah Conlin assisted on all three of the Spartans’ goals.
Emma Yoder (Conlin assist) scored the equalizer less than a minute after Longstreth gave the Golden Bears an early lead. Gabi Maletta scored the go-ahead goal – again with a Conlin assist – with 1:38 remaining in the quarter.
That 2-1 score stood until Gracie Buchholtz, using a Conlin assist, found the cage just over two minutes into the third quarter.
“We came out fast and were able to put a quick goal on the board,” UM coach Marissa Elizardo said. “Unfortunately, we had a big let-up, and Springfield took advantage of it. We had a hard time finding our rhythm after we scored. We spent the rest of the game on our heels.”
UM goalie Addi Hurley kept her team in it with 16 saves.
Springfield (3-2, 3-1 SOL) will travel to Cheltenham Tuesday, and Upper Moreland (4-2, 2-2) will host New Hope-Solebury on Tuesday.

“We continued to improve our connections across each of our lines throughout the match as we as we gained experience on their pitch.”
Lily Cosner’s two-goal effort led the balanced West attack. Avery Anderson and Mimi Duffy each added a single goal. Calista Boos had a pair of assists while Aida Ierubino and Nina Mayro each had one assist.
