PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 2, PENNSBURY 2 (OT)
It looked as though goals would be difficult to come by after the two teams battled to a scoreless halftime tie, but things changed in a hurry in the second half.
Frankie O’Brien found the cage to put the Colonials on the board three-and-a-half minutes into the half, but 13 minutes later, the Falcons got that back when Olivia Mauro turned a Kate Chesney pass into a goal that knotted the score. The Falcons took a 2-1 lead on Nell Weber’s unassisted goal 20 minutes into the half, but O’Brien answered with the equalizer. Neither team found the cage in OT.
“Today was a hard fought battle that resulted in a tie,” coach Charise Halteman said. “Overtime was back and forth with opportunities going both ways.
“We struggled with Pennsbury’s transition and fast attack, but we were able to create offense as well with 18 corners and 17 shots on goal.”
Plymouth Whitemarsh (5-0-1, 4-0 SOL) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Monday, and Pennsbury (3-2-1, 2-1) will be on the road at Council Rock South on Monday.
Pennsbury 0-2-0 2

NESHAMINY 1, GREAT VALLEY 0
Kayla Connelly broke a scoreless tie 17:20 into the second half, connecting during corner play with an assist from Emily Alexis. That goal stood the rest of the way.
“The win was a total team effort,” coach Jamie Pinto said. “The girls played hard the whole game.
“Defensively, we only allowed five shots. Goalie Jill Mitchell and Elena Donato led the defense. Jamie Pennington, Sophie Schadt and Taylor Benton all played strong defensively as well. The mids and forwards were working well together, connecting on passes and getting the ball in the circle.
“Mia Sexton led the forwards with Elayna Curtin and Peyton Ritchey applying pressure. Emily Alexis controlled the middle of the field while Anna Skrot and Connelly worked hard on the sides.”
Neshaminy (4-2, 3-0 SOL) will be on the road at Council Rock North on Monday.
Neshaminy 0-1 1
