Captain Lily Haag scored with an assist from Megan Reilly in the third quarter, breaking a scoreless tie and propelling the Titans to the non-league win on Saturday.
“CB South played a little sluggish today but managed to notch a win,” South coach Pat Toner said. “Springfield’s goalkeeper did a nice job turning away a barrage of shots. Congrats to both teams on a hard-fought game.”
Freshman Grace Bell recorded 22 saves in goal in a standout performance for the Spartans.
“Outstanding job by Grace Bell in goal for Springfield Township,” Springfield coach Anita Stum said. “Springfield kept at it for the entire game. Every save Grace made gave us more confidence.”
The Titans held a 23-1 advantage in shots and a 14-1 advantage in penalty corners.
South goalie Emma Kraft was forced to make just one save in the win.
